Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay,

Sitting in the minutes, and holding all those feelings must be so hard I'm hearing that moment to moment, how you feel around your safety and wellbeing can change. When you are starting to feel like the emotions get bigger, what have you been doing to get through moment to moment? Do you have an updated safety plan, just in case there are moments you might want to refer to it?

When I was going through the most difficult moments of depression, I felt like my ability to cope was moment to moment too, and finding ways to reach out when I felt the weight of those feelings helped me know I wasn't holding them alone. We are sitting here alongside you to support you to hold these emotions

Migraines as well, that's so tough @BlueBay 😞 As a fellow migraine sufferer I feel for you! That pain and the impact for sleep really can compound the feelings can't it. Are there things you have found that work to help manage migraines?

I'm hearing how much emotional and physical pain you are feeling, and will also send an email to check in about your safety You know yourself, and what supports work best for you, but I will link to crisis supports here just in case there is a time you feel you might want some extra support.

Take care Bluebay 💙

Re: Need to vent

Thank you @Daisydreamer for your care snd support.
On top of all this I have to keep house clean for open inspection each week.
migraines controlled with meds but I did end up in hospital two weeks ago to get stronger meds. It’s very draining afterwards.

moment to moment - I’m in between trying hard to stay busy so I don’t self harm. I’m sewing baby cloths and blankets. Also I’m knitting scarves for my granddaughter and her two little step sisters.
laying in bed hiding away from life is what I do.

im crying because I’m so open and honest in here. We only had $5 left in our account u til Thursday when hubby gets paid. So I lost it completely this morning crying overwhelmed until I asked my boys to help us out until Thursday. But the guilt is huge. Where I hate myself.

asthma doesn’t help with my headaches as well. Each cough hurts my head.

thank you @Daisydreamer

I still do t feel I should live. 😥😥

Re: Need to vent

Would it be ok for me to share that yes…

Absolutely you deserve happiness @BlueBay but I get that it might be hard to be able to fathom that right now.

Just thinking that it might be tough going through the waiting period of psychology support, have you prepared at all by having any other help services on hand that you can access during that period?

Re: Need to vent

Hi @Former-Member

to be honest I’m struggling to believe what anyone is telling me. Like my dr telling me I deserve happiness. Etc etc

while waiting for a psychologist the other support I currently have is my GP and my psychiatrist.

trust is a big issue for me. At the moment I’m not trusting because I’ve been and still am been hurt by others close to me. I don’t know who to believe anymore.
and I don’t believe in myself.
Im hopeless

Re: Need to vent

OK, if you’d find it helpful for me to share with you these other services you can access as additional supports. You might find these useful but you will know what you need for yourself.

There is:
Beyond Blue (1300 224636)
Carer Gateway (1800 422 737)
Lifeline 13 11 14

Blueknot 1300 657 380

Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467

I can hear that trust is a big element for you which I've had my own journey around trust in the past.
Just sending you loads of kindness and knowing there are others here that hear you and see you in your courage and strength by talking about this.

Be gentle with yourself

take care

@Former-Member

Its not I don’t trust you. I hope you’re not angry with me. Now I’m worried I’ve upset you.

trust with psychologist are hard. It takes time to build a rapport with them.

thanks for sharing those numbers

I’m not sure what to do

I feel so conflicted with my head. My thoughts. I can’t work things out.
