Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

hi friends @oceangirl @Emelia8 @NatureLover @Former-Member @Snowie @Bow @Owlunar @Shaz51 @MDT @Jynx and others following

I’m not sure I should be here. There are no set groups as they have no psychologist anymore. They all resigned. The unit manager resigned late last year. There is no one to take groups.
tiday all I did was walk perimeter of hospital. Then quiz questions snd that’s it.
im bored. I have left my room a few times today but by the afternoon I was exhausted and went to bed.

started new Med this morning. The whole plan and goal was to go there do all group therapy and change medication.

tomorriw I will see the medical physician and the psychiatrist will come as well.
I know my doctor was not keen on me going in. Abd that’s why my psych suggested no longer than 2 weeks.

if I’m ok with meds on Friday I think I’ll go home.
there’s no point been in here with no visitors at all. I will go crazy if I’m still here this weekend.
there are only 10 patients in out of 48 rooms in new purpose built ward.
it’s not the same line previous years. I feel it’s gone downhill.

Re: Need to vent

Morning @BlueBay,

That sounds really disappointing, and I can hear that you're feeling quite isolated. I'm sorry it's not turned about to be the experience you were hoping for 💙

The goal for your admission sounds two-fold: group therapy and med change. If we're looking for a silver lining, it sounds like you've started your med change, and I hope that provides some relief for you soon.

What have you got planned for today?

Re: Need to vent

hi @Former-Member @Snowie @Eve7 thank you for your support yesterday.

@oceangirl @Emelia8 @Shaz51 @Owlunar @MDT @BPDSurvivor

this morning i was thinking more and more about going home and the lack of group therapy classes. I ended up saying something to my nurse and she totally understand where i was coming from. coming into hospital with no group therapy classes at all and with no psychologists here either. Terrible.

She ended up speaking with the group therapy co-ordinator (she is a psychologist) who has known me since my first admission 11 years ago. We get along well when we see each other. She is a really nice person.

She came to sit with me outside and i told her how i felt about this admission. the main reasons i was to come in was to change my medication but to also attend every group therapy class. I know that my GP and psych were a bit worried that if i just stayed in my room i would ruminate more and it wouldn't be good for me. She told me that she has resigned and is leaving at the end of this month. so now a fantastic psychologist/co-ordinator is leaving as well. soon there will be no staff left!

i told her i was annoyed, upset at the fact that there were no group classes. i said i understood about staff shortages but had i known this i wouldn't have come in. And now i am desperate to go home. no visitors or leave is allowed and i don't want to be here on the weekend with very limited staff, no group classes - just a very small amount of patients.

i will speak to the psych who is seeing me in here and let him know how i feel. i hope he says i can go home on friday and be monitored by my own GP.

today we did - a short walk around the hospital 10mins. but it was nice to get some fresh air.

a bit of art which i made a collage for my little A

yoga

that's it. there is far too much time on our own. the staff don't care, the nurses don't even come to talk. they wouldn't be busy as there's not many patients.

the good thing is that my ECG was fine, but i am waiting for my cardiologist to come in to see me.

also, i am going tomorrow to have a special MRI for my pancreas and as i am an inpatient i won't have to pay. i tried to have this done about a month ago and was told i had to pay $300 for the injection with the dye as it's not covered by medicare. but if you come in as a patient you are covered. so this morning i asked the physician about this and he put the paperwrk in and an appt was made for tomorrow midday. so at least i am getting my tests done.

thank you my beautiful sis @Shaz51 i just don't know what to do

i seriously am thinking about leaving the hospital

what is the point if there is nothing to do

i may as well go home and spend the weekend with hubby and little A which would give me so much love and happiness

and i could be monitored by my own GP and psych
