Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

went to sit at beach with hubby but too busy

went for a drive yesterday eith omder son

he wanted to show us where he wants to buy a house& land pkg. really nice area.
we drive around and hubby and I like it. We've actually looked quite a few times.
nee talked last night and I'm pretty sure now we'll sell our home early next yesr. Doing this means no more mortgage and I don't have to work.

it would be about 1/2 HT from our beautiful beach and our daughters. And 15 min to my parents.
tiday is first day I feel ok about doing this huge step.

Re: Need to vent

That is a huge decision @BlueBay . You have clearly weighed up the pros and cons of selling your home. And it sounds like you are now comfortable with that decision. I'm happy for you. 😄💖

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay !

We've missed you too!

It sounds like you are making some really big decisions, but it also sounds wise. So is it downsizing?

I'm so glad you spent time with Little A. I spent time with my neices and nephew yesterday, and as tired as I was, I got up so I could be with them - this is what i need. Otherwise I think i'd just give in to my tiredness.

In retrospect, I felt tired this arvo, but because I had 2 lessons, I had to get up. After the lessons, I felt invigorated - this is what kids do to me - and I enjoy it that way 🙂

Enjoy to heat tomorrow @BlueBay . I hope you still get a little walk and coffee despite all the people flocking to the beaches.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BPDSurvivor 👋

we won't be downsizing in house size. Where we live is an exclusive area which a lot of people want to live in. We have hardly any little kids around this area. A lot of adults with adult kids. Or no kids!!

so we bought four years ago, the house was only 18 months old. We were very lucky for what we paid. Now our house is worth double what we paid!!! It's crazy.
we don't have any cash in hand but we have a lot of money sitting in our home. It just makes sense to move as hard as it will be emotionally.
So the only way we will make money and have quite a bit left over (once mortgage is paid off) is to move away from where we live 😢😢

and move about 30 mins out. There is a new estate with lots of walking tracks, wetlands and parks. So that's our thought atm.
after driving through there on Sunday I'm a bit excited. But anxious snd sad about selling and moving.
we have lived in our area for 25 yrs. the kids then were 4,3, 3 months old.
Moving will be more a financial gain than anything else. But who knows Msybe I'll like the new area!!! Away from the tourists!!

today is going to be warm 30deg. I'm heading out soon for walk with younger son snd dog jersey. Taking her to beach she can have a play.
then I'll tidy house and head down beach mid morning.

@BPDSurvivor sometimes you just need to rest. Glad you saw your nieces and nephew. It's tiring.

OMG I have to tell you all - Luttle A went back to kinda yesterday. She was soooo excited!! I went with my D to take her. She couldn't stop telling me how she missed her friends. She loves it. I guess she missed the social interaction like us adults too!!

hope everyone is doing ok.
@oceangirl my parents don't have a mobile phone or computer. So can't face time. They won't go anywhere until they're double vax mid December. Won't let anyone go there either.
I think I'm getting upset because my dads health is not 💯 so I worry about him dying. And all the thoughts of how much I miss him.

Hello @BlueBay

Pleased to see your activity and reflections on pleasant previous experiences.

Today I am trying to "psych" myself up toward doing nearly as much as you have already accomplished.

With Best Wishes

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay ,

Moving sounds like a very wise idea. 30 minutes is not too far. I'm glad you felt a glimmer of excitement when you visited the new area - sounds great 🙂 It's such a relief not having a mortgage. If you are willing to go through with the move, it will set you up in a much better space financially. No financial stress! How great does that sound?

As for Little A resuming kinder - that's so great! I can feel her excitment just being able to play with others. It's so important.

I went for a drive to the beach today. The water was LOVELY! Went with my sister's family - the 3 kids too of course 🙂

Hope you have a great remainder of the day!

Re: Need to vent

hey @BPDSurvivor

No financial stress sounds amazing. It would free up our lives. We could travel around Australia.
I have all these visions but then I think nah it won't happen.
I need to believe it.

so many people and no car park

the water was beautiful

glsd you got up the beach as well

Resting now
