Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Hello, Dear @BlueBay

It is disappointing when we compare ourselves to others and feel unworthy. Even the fact that others are giving support, or trying to, seems to put all “the others” at a different level to ourselves. From this, we often tend to consider ourselves less than “the others” who are offering assistance to us. We can tend, in those difficult times, to only think about the present moment, and the apparent difference between ourselves and “everyone else”. These are often the times when we are receiving and less able to offer and give. At these times, we can easily feel and believe that everyone else is ok, but we are not.

This is definitely a mis-perception of the reality. We are all at different stages and positions on the wheel of life and each in turn experiences the highs and lows of life and everything in between. We depend on each other at various times and to varying degrees, but we also offer each other and share mutual support at other times.

You, at the present time, may be the one receiving support from others as, in similar fashion, you offer and give support at other times. Just as there are times when we each have the opportunity of generously offering and providing support to others, there are other times when we each can graciously receive support, comfort and assurance from others. We all go through different stages of surplus that we can share with and give to others, times of equilibrium, when we share with others in reciprocal support and encouragement, and there are times when we need more support than we are able to offer.

We generously offer and give when we can and graciously receive and accept when we need.

This is the wheel of life on which we all turn and take turns.

Please remember, that it is as worthy to receive and accept graciously, the support, comfort, encouragement and reassurance offered by others, as we would like others to do when we, in our turn, have the opportunity to generously offer and give nurturing support, comfort, encouragement and reassurance to others during their difficult times.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

Re: Need to vent

Good morning @BlueBay

I hope that you managed to have some sleep and a good rest at the very least.

You have had so much happening at once in a short space of time..

Your body and mind are still trying to catch up..

you might have been in auto pilot mode..

are you familiar with that term..

emotions come to the surface and we can feel them days after the event.

how are you feeling today?

You are still showing us how brave you are by opening up and reaching out so that you can have extra support on here...

Sophia 💜

ps.. do not feel guilty if your mind is not allowing you to understand what we have said..

that is just overload of emotion filling your mind...fog brain and confusion are what I call it...it will go..

@BlueBay

I'm sorry that your friend's news is bringing up some really awful feelings for you Our crafty minds can really take these as opportunities to validate all of our darkest thoughts and feelings about oursevles, but remember, it is no reflection on you or your significant value.

I can see there are so many here that feel lucky to experience that value, and we are all sitting right by your side in these feelings.

Re: Need to vent

I just wanted to reach out and say "I feel your pain"

I to am struggling hoping for things to get better. You just need to hold on to hope. I've been in ths pit before and managed to drag myself through all the mud and shit to gan a normal life. It's not easy and I now it feels like all hope is lost, but I promise you it's not, there are better days ahead even though at the moment its hard to see
