Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hello @BlueBay

Oh you do not need all of that on top of your health at the moment..

are you able to text co-ordinator ..been in ED discharged but am under support of surgeon..

can gp who referred to surgeon write letter re urgent health situation to DBT co-ordinator as a medical certificate support ...also stating in covering letter..vital DBT course still available for you fully paid..

Will your husband help in any way? Daughter?

I do not know the situation there..

I have found in emergencies my sister in past and my husband step up and speak up for me...taking that concern away from me..

You are doing so very well with all of this even though it probably now feels the opposite.

We are here supporting you so keep on writing about what you feel you can

Hi @Sophia1

hubby does hrlp with our finances but because I'm not working it's causing issues. Kids help when they can.
I received a phone call this afternoon from my new psych. Will have first session tomorrow afternoon. He is very very experienced in DBT and BPD which I'm grateful for.
my previous psychologist called me to tell me she is leaving and that I've got an excellent therapist with this new guy.
another call - this time my surgeon. After seeing my discharge note he said he'll csll me next week.

So many things to do. I'm stressing a lot atm. I csnt think. There's too much.

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BlueBay I can see you've got a lot on your plate! I hope your new therapist works out. It might take some time though. I imagine everything feels pretty up in the air at the moment. I reckon one day at a time is the best way, and I sometimes try to mentally 'place things on a shelf' that I'm worrying about but that I can't do much about in the moment.

Be gentle with yourself. Here if you need

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay I am right there with you on xmas being a super stressful time. I think many folks don't really understand that xmas isn't always joyful for everyone.

It's hard Bluebay, this life thing. Hmm... What is one small victory, or something you have gratitude for today?

Re: Need to vent

one thing at a time @BlueBay ....one step at a time @BlueBay ...

Write down all your stressors tonight on a piece of paper, put them beside you. Then have a good night sleep. I promise the paper won't disappear, and at least you've written them down - this might give you a better sleep. 🙂

Re: Need to vent

Hello @BlueBay

@Jynx, @BPDSurvivor and others, I think, are on the right track, probably because they know, from their own personal experience, the feelings that you are experiencing now. They had to get through stages like that. I have too.

I suggested recently:

"I reckon that you can handle it. Just relax with whatever you like to drink and try not to shut all the activity out. The more resistence that you force into what is going on, the more tense you are likely to become.

Mindfullness involves letting, what you would normally fight and get anxious about, simply wash over and past you. You can retain your peace and let everything else flow over you."

From what you have said, I believe your extended family are keen to give you both support and encouragement at this time. It is not pleasant to feel as though you are relying on other people, even those close to you. However, nothing that you would not want to happen will occur, if you rest in the reassurance that those special people are with you.

Frankly, it takes guts to rest in the reassurance of others. You are not depending on them, but resting with the reassurance that they care about you and want you to be able to make best use of the resources available so that you can help yourself.

With My Very Best Wishes to You and Your Family

@HenryX
