Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

thank you my beautiful friend @Emelia8

I get so excited on all my ideas but then i think oh no i can't do this. i need to believe in myself more don't I?

hubby is excited becasue he can help me make some things. I have just looked up dry clay and the things you can make and sell.

See that's the thing Em, i think in my head yeah ok i can do this; but then instantly i negate it with 'oh it's all too much i won't sell anything'.

i need to do one thing at a time and not get too far ahead of myself.

how are you going? i often think of you but haven't written in your post for a while. xxxxooo

Re: Need to vent

G'day @BlueBay
Yeah not bad thanks. Thanks for asking.
Just doing my work.
Gonna split my day as there is not much work to do.
Just calling heaps of people about stuff.
Trying to sort some stuff for post lockdown but it's hard as not everyone wants vaccine and some are on the spectrum.
I need to make sure I take none of it personally

Hey @oceangirl , that is super rough. Sounds like you're feeling really stuck. Do you have anyone to talk to about what's going on for you? Hope you get some rest and respite soon

Its hard atm @Jynx I don't have many people to talk to. I do have a GP I have know for a long time and a psych that I don't see very often. And I have know the psych for a very long time too. I am feeling really fatigued and will have a blood test tomorrow.

I find it hard to open up because of my anxiety, fear and mixture of feelings. I am not sure what to do for the best? Even though I have my GP and psych I don't feel supported if that makes sense.

It does make sense. Just because on paper you have this support, doesn't mean it is the right support for you at this point in time. You could always shake things up and see someone new - but also if you're struggling to feel safe to open up, that could be challenging. Maybe right now the thing 'for the best' for you could be to focus your energy and attention on something else... It's okay to take a break from the process of healing too, especially if you're feeling so fatigued.

@BlueBay !

You've put a huge smile on my face! I'm so happy to hear about all the great things you are doing - even getting hubby to think of creative ways to make a few $$. That's impressive!

Its so great to hear that the health insurance could suspend your payments. I guess there are many people who are in similar circumstances.

Way to go with your big walk and your productivity today!

Keep it up, sunshine!

Hi my beautiful friends @BPDSurvivor @Shaz51 @MDT @Emelia8 @oceangirl @Anastasia and others following

I had an okay day today. Caught up with 4 long time work colleagues/friends (over 20 years). We try to catch up once a month but haven't because of lockdown. So we decided to meet at local park where we bought coffee and one of the girls brought cake. 2 1/2 hours later it was nice to see them and hear what was going on in their lives. They all haven't seen me since i lost my job and all told me i look fantastic, relaxed and tanned!!! I politely accepted the compliment but deep inside I struggled with it.

After that hubby and I went to Bunnings to click and collect a few garden things. Then had lunch and younger son and Jersey (dog) joined hubby and I for a 6.5km walk down to the beach. Our son bought coffees which was nice to sit on a rock at the beach.

Little A had had enough at her dad's and wanted to come back to me so her mum could pick her up. She came at 3pm and we had fun colouring in; going to the play ground and laying on my bed just the two of us 'girl chatting' lol

so much fun. She went home with mum about 4.30pm.

Just had a relaxing bath while younger son and hubby have gone to buy dinner.

I am exhausted still can't get my energy levels up. I am seeing my GP first thing Monday morning, so will see what the results of blood test was for iron.

oh forgot to say - my friends have ordered 2 eye pillows and a friend wants a headband!!!

excited but not too excited; i don't know why i still have this hesitation feeling of it all not working. My friends complimented me on my fantastic handmade items.

Hope you are all doing okay and that your day was a nice one in whatever you did xxxxooo
