Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay

Of course you are scared about the results of all these tests - everyone would be - I would be -

But it's also important to remember that these tests find out what the trouble IS NOT - so as well as finding out WHAT IS - the doctors know the best way to treat all of this

And as hard as it might be - will be - for you - all you might need to do it change your diet - I did read that and I would not like to be told that - but it is as easy way to cure something

It sounds as if you are having good care where you are - and no one is at their best in hospital - why would we be? Why could we be? I had a few cries in hospital last month - pain wears us down - so does not knowing - and the tests -

But you are having a break - it might not be the one you felt like - but you are being cared for - and that can't be all bad

I hope you have some of your own stuff at least

Hi Bluebay

I'm so glad the nurses are treating you good, and you are on pain meds and being cared for.

Wishin' and a'hoping, hoping and a'praying the medical team sort it out.

It happened to me, a medical miracle, 10 years of living with extreme hypertension, dr's tried different

meds which gave me aweful side effects, so of course I ditched them, then finally I spent 4 days in the cardiac ward and they threw every thing they could at me meds wise, and had a deeep look into all my organs and blood, changed my life. and it's been nearly 8 years with decent blood pressure.

I was later diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder at the age of 59. The anti psychotics did a number on me and now I have severe osteo arthritis that would have happened in about 15 more years anyways. I got on NDIS and have a team of helpers, cos i was totally overwhelmed for a few years. Too much pain and sorrow, and the loneliness and negative self talk.

I have a pain management plan now thanks to my psychologist who was a bush nurse for many years and knows a thing or 2.

My point is miracles happened. It didn't 'fix' me tho, I still swing between depressive in the winter and maniac in the summer. My family like the depressive, not so much the maniac. I am endevouring the befriend the maniac. With mixed results. My kids are still talking to me tho and I to them, so that's a plus.

Just wanted you to know Bluebay, someone else is thinking of you and wishing for a good outcome.

All the bestest.

Re: Need to vent

What can you do right now @BlueBay ?

You are in hospital having tests for an internal problem that has been making you sick for ages and it seems all you can do is breathe. I was in a similar place - maybe even the same hospital - a few weeks ago and I just had to last it out and I get it - you feel helpless - because you are - and I am sorry

That's a crappy thing your employers have done - apparently they can't sack you when you are sick but they can reduce you hours - so sucky that

Forget about working there - if you have an operation you will not be able to work for a while anyway

So take it easy and breathe - it's all you can to right now - except vent - and that's okay
