Hi @Samxox
Who am I? I am my unique characteristics - something we all share.
I am my core values and my choices. My passions, my strengths and my weaknesses. I am what I choose to think upon and do; what I offer/give to others, myself and the community at large. I become truly me when I tap into what I am here for and pursue it without giving up or only looking for self gratification. I did this after coming through some dark and empty life stages questioning exactly what you are and growing in compassion. I found me through the latter as this guided me to growing within becoming a better person.
I loose myself when worries, grief, anxiety, stresses and self doubt overwhelm and I don't try my best. I need to take a bigger leap of faith then to keep moving forward.
But simply I am.

It is something I've been thinking about for a long time. It is one of the big questions we face in our lives.
WHO AM I?
I have often defined myself by roles I've played - daughter, sister, loving girlfriend, wife, mother, lover, my career choice, crafter etc. I realised several years ago that they are things I do not who I am.
I am changing. I am stubborn. I am loving. I am impatient. I am positive. I am grateful. I am lonely. I am many qualities and they shift as things around me change and I adapt. I learn new skills and let go others. I develop new qualities in myself and let go others. At the end of the day I AM. At that is the best any of us can be! It is hard to get to the bottom of just exactly who I am but I am working on it and myself as best I can. One day I will truly know and accept who I am - good and bad!
I wish you well on your journey!

What an insightful post. @Selene
People thought "the soul" had a quintessential quality ... that defined us .. apart from the things we do ...
My daughter took me to see the movie "21 grams" ...
I think there is an emotional charge we carry around with us ... that may often reflect some aspects of us and our experience .. but that we are all at least a little bit broken .. and a little bit good.

@Appleblossom, thank you for your lovely remark about my post.
I haven't seen the movie 21 grams but I will find it and watch it.
The movie Seven Pounds is in a slightly similar vein and I found it moving.
I agree with your last sentence very much..... I am a little broken and a little battered and a little good and stronger than I sometimes realise.
