Sick of Corona Lockdown

Sick of Corona Lockdown

I am sick and tired of this Corona lockdown. Since March i have only visited the local IGA, the pharmacy and the doctors. Haven't left my little town of less than 3,000.

I find myself talking to my dogs all the time, hoping that just once they will respond. Lol. But they dont.

It's hard when you live alone, with no one to talk with or interact with.

Mentally my depression is in remission. So i guess this is simply sadness that im feeling. A strange feeling i haven't felt since i first got sick with Depression.

Please feel free to chat with us about anything you like to help you feel connected. There are also some other threads here on the forums that are more activity based. If you want to chat about a social space, like sports, crafts, etc. I like the craft corner! It helps to stay connected when your not able to go out and do things.

Hopefully your friend can maybe spare a few minutes just to chat? Have you tried calling her?

Ballroom dancing sounds beautiful idea to have as a hobby when you get out of lockdown.

Hi @utopia

dancing is fantastic, I love dancing too, rock'n'roll. I haven't done it in a long time, but as you thought about starting it again. I don't want to be a spoil sport, but I think dancing might be some time away. Sorry, I just wouldn't want you to wait for one activity only.

can you try & contact support services at charities or if you have ndis, a support worker? Maybe they have info on that in the corona helpline at beyondblue? I have a support worker from a charity and they're great in finding online courses or even supporting hobbies by helping with materials or just letting me know what's happening in the community. Just a thought but they help me.

take care x

Look towards spirituality, or finding other things to do at home. Music helps me quite a lot, see if you can do a online course, or play video games to connect with others. My depression suits this isolation just fine, espeically after what this year has brough upon me besides this virus.

Best of luck.

I think that is great scheduling in something to look forward to after the virus passes.

Ballroom dancing sounds wonderful and I'm sure it'll provide great social setting.
Take care ❤️

Hi @utopia @Caringsoul73 @Brightest_angel @Former-Member @jem80 @Shaz51 @frog and everyone here. Thanks very much for starting this thread @utopia - very relevant and important right now for so many people.
I like you are sick of lockdown as I'm in Melbourne on stage 4 and have the limits on where I'm allowed to travel, so I'm over being restricted to where I'm allowed to go. There's only so many times I can visit the local shops to get food and I'm really missing the socialisation of visiting the local libraries to get books and magazines. I have now started to read ebooks via my library membership but it's not the same as getting recommendations from the friendly library staff. I'm glad I have the forums to talk to people and have some connections.

I am thinking of you @utopia You are strong and you will get through this.

I hope the the pandemic will encourage society to invest more in mental health support. I believe the cost of poor mental health excceds the cost of the respiratory virus.
