I am struggling at the moment

I am struggling at the moment

I don't know why I am really writing this. There seems to be part of me which says that I need to pull my head in and do this alone and another part who so desperately wants to reach out for help. I am really struggling. I'm not coping at all. For much of the day I've thought about all the reasons to die and there are hundreds. There is also one reason to live that keeps me here. I can't let down my oldest son and cut out his trip of a lifetime. He would have to come home and pick up all the pieces for everyone. I keep telling myself I have to hold on until he comes back and then I can let go but this keeps me waiting to die not choosing to live. I have a cold sore that now goes from the corner of my eye the length of my nose and it's slowly creeping across my face from stress. It started on Wednesday and each morning I wake to find more of my face engulfed by it. I am so tired. I am so sorry to write this and I know I'm so lucky to have friends on here that care. I don't want anyone to have to deal with this as it is so depressing so I started this thread as a way of saying that I'm not well when writing here and please don't feel obliged to read or respond.

Re: I am struggling at the moment

I had a similar experience decades ago over the admin setup at the consultation rooms. I worked and had appointments after admin hours. they did not have setup after hours for payment by card. I always forgot to take cash out ( cashless society) and therefore gap of bill mounted up to about $40 thereabouts. I rang office one day responding to missed call trying to explain why payment late. Miss condescending went about lecturing me on how I needed to go there during office hours or send postal order. I refused and said I would leave cash amount with psychiatrist. then boom received letter from psychiatrist advising me that due to my mistreating of her staff she would no longer be able to see me. I did not get to say my side of story.i found out years later when I was in hospital miss condescending was her daughter. I was enraged and indignant. I turned it inside and of course added to the internal pile of "what is wrong with me". I finally vented it with my new psychiatrist a couple of years ago and what stood out to me the most was the so called specialist I had put my trust in let me down horribly not me I did not let myself down. so don't do what I did carry that stuff for years- don't let her make you doubt your value - sorry for ranting

@Faith-and-Hope I think WH might get a bit grumpy with you is when it takes 6hrs to have coffee and reply to us 😝😬😂😘. We will also require holiday updates not MH related to inspire us 💜😊

@Decadian @Former-Member thanks for your support. I think I'm beginning to understand that it wasn't all my fault in regards to being abandoned by my psychologist. There is no way you can't think that at the time though when it happens. I still take most of the responsibility for it though. I was even more crazy then. The inner child will take some work but I'm opening up to it slowly now.

@Decadian I'm so glad that finding the forum family has helped you a great deal too. I love that you embody a life of learning. I was hoping to start studying a cert 4 in mental health next year but I am finding it much harder to concentrate to do the homework. The class work is ok but I just don't have the attention span at the moment. This has even extended to my participation on the forum as well. A few months ago I found it much easier to read and respond to posts but lately I really have to push myself some days to respond and I often have to read posts a few times to really read them. I think recent stresses have slowed my brain. I am thinking maybe I do need to just try some volunteering that is less taxing.

Hi @Former-Member. It's lovely to meet you. I'm really pleased for you that you have found the forum to be supportive. I have been very blessed and grateful for the support here. As you have probably noticed there have been nearly 80 pages of support, encouragement, advice, virtual hugs and friendship. It has been so very helpful and such a big part of my slow recovery process.

Im sorry you had such a difficult time with your psychiatrist and that your trust was betrayed over something like that. I'm glad you have found better support. It appears you have a great deal of complex situations to deal with in life currently as well. I read your thread. I wish you all the best for your difficult time ahead and hope to see you around the forum.

Hugs to all 💜🤗

Re: I am struggling at the moment

Hi @Former-Member

I guess we do expose ourselves here - but then - I consider that only the people here can read what I write and no one knows who we are

So - although I have told my doctor and my psychologist I write here - I do not tell anyone anything at all about what I read or what I write - oh the pain if I was speaking about someone and another member heard me - not good - I would be really exposing myself

So @Former-Member - I consider life a lot like this - it's not what we write or say or do - it's what we think about what we write and say and do - and when we tell our stories we think we tell the world about us but in reality - the rest of the world goes on and what we say breaks up and flies away like confetti on a windy day - and all will be over and gone

But in opening up we tell our story and the dragons get smaller and the good fairies get bigger - the sandman goes away and someone else writes new stories for us

But our own story changes with us

Decadian

Re: I am struggling at the moment

how lovely that you took the time to respond to us individually. That speaks realms about your warmth and compassion. I wouldn't give up on the idea of study , perhaps just put it to the side (I use an imaginary shelf) sound like your body and mind are suggesting be gentle with yourself just for now - one step at at time - thank you -hugs back to you
