An explanation for my absence (and a sad goodbye).

An explanation for my absence (and a sad goodbye).

I'm sorry I'm not on the forums much anymore.

I'm sorry I'm not supporting anyone. I have missed so much. I've missed you all so much.

My life is changing and I have a lot going on. I feel bad I'm not giving back like I used to.

This may sound dumb. But. I feel like I'm out of the loop here. Like an outsider. I've missed everything going on and I'm now scared to post on threads because I don't know what to say anymore and I've missed very key things going on and it's like I don't know you all or anything anymore.

I took a step back for self care a WHiLE ago and haven't been the same since. The forum has also physically changed a lot too. I don't cope with change.

I feel like taking a step offline has actually helped me focus on my physical supports a lot more. Which now I have more around me as well. I post less here in crisis too which is best for everyone.

I'm not sure if always posting my thoughts online for the world to see ever helped me. That is sooooorsooooo to day. Because I've had the BEST support here and wouldn't be alive without you guys. But I don't know if sharing online is beneficial to my future recovery. Venting isn't always helpful or the most appropriate way to move forward.

As I go less online I'm leaning on real life and getting caught up in that not thinking on what I can post about in the evenings.

I guess writing this I never intended this to be my goodbye letter but an apology fur not being around.

But writing I'm realizing that I need you guys less and that's a good thing. I have a different life than when I joined years ago.

Tou guys are F*ing amazing.

This isn't a permanent goodbye.

I'm transitioning to becoming more involved in my offline. I don't want every thought to be taken up with 'posting' not turning to the forum to fix my problem or my first waking thing to be to look what's online. I need to ground myself in my room and then plan my day.

It's not saying I'm not here for you. But letting you all know I'm trying life. I have too busy to post every hour like I used to. And tbh I'm understanding that's good for me.

I'll be here but a lot less. This goodbye is me looking after myself. But I will be here for you all.

No one please take this personally, or an attack on anyone. But this is for me. A realisation as I write this I guess.

So for now remember I love you guys.

Love from your little centaur

Hey @The-red-centaur

Really nice to hear the update on your thoughts and feelings around the forum. Its great to hear that some time away from the forums has allowed you to connect more with life and your offline supports. I loved this part of your post - "letting you all know I'm trying life".

Sometimes we outgrow places or our needs change and its ok to redirect our focus elsewhere. We are all still here when you do swing by to check in

Thank you @The-red-centaur for your update. I think its wonderful that you are becoming more self sufficient in your off line world, with less reliance on the forums. That is a very good thing ... and I am really happy for you. The fact that you have been able to concentrate more on securing off line support is a testament to your resilience and determination. I applaud you, and wish you all the very best in future. No, its not goodbye, but it is a shift in dynamics for you. Thanks for letting us all know, and I hope you will pop in occasionally and let us know that you continue to do well.

Sherry 😊🌺

@The-red-centaur

That was such a beautiful deep thoughtful post it sent shivers through me. Dont worry about the forum, it is difficult to manage all the changes. I am glad you have more support in real life and that a LIFE is evolving for you. You are so clear about where you are at, and it makes sense for you to move on. Your gratitude is big and your contributions have already made a difference.

I am going through a very similar feeling, about needing to limit myself on the forum, but I will remember you and wish you all the best for your life journey.

Hugs

Hi @The-red-centaur ,

i don’t really know you, but I completely understand. Well done you. Real life connections are more important.

the forums have been good for me, but I am not one of the height users and I sometimes wonder if “talking” to other people with MHissues is the best way for me to move forward.

there are people here I can really identify with and I like that, and some really comfort me and provide friendship. I appreciate that.but I really get what you are saying
