Thank you everyone for your kindness today. I know I shouldn't rely so much on my pdoc because her family is very important and must come first.

My heart breaks for her at this time and I do know I can contact other services. It is just really hard right now.

Really sorry about your cancelled pdoc apt @Eve7 . No matter the reason for it, it still sucks. I know when it happened to me, when my psych lost her Dad, I felt really abandoned. Yet I knew of course that I was being terribly selfish. But it was just at a really tough time for me, and I felt really let down.

It's easy to "forget" that our pdocs are real people with real lives and when we hear they've had a tragedy in their life it's hard not to think "Why am I expecting this person to be super human"? I want to give her a big hug and tell her I'm here for her. I'll take flowers to my next appointment but I'm sure it will be very different.
