Dear @Eve7 ,
don’t ever feel that you need to say any more than you feel comfortable or wish to say.
I can be a bit of an open book, in fact I have become less open as I grow older. I figure that I have lived my life with people around and there is always someone , somewhere who knows parts of my life and what I have done and been through. Life is not hidden. But that is just how I feel and it doesn’t mean that I go about telling everybody I meet all about everything.
And I would only open up here as I feel comfortable and with people I trust, even though anyone can read it.

Thank you @Peri I appreciate your wisdom. I have not talked about my mi past with anyone ever. I do think “it happened, it was dealt with at the time and it’s over”. It’s as if it was another person because I’ve hidden it for so long even though there are people who know and, as you say, life is not hidden. My pdoc says I’d be shocked to know how many have done that.
I also think if I tell pdoc much more I’ll be in here forever which leads me to think it might be better to just put on my happy face again but then there’s the voices in my head.
ive had a talk with a nurse tonight and I’m much more settled.
sorry for the rant...how are you?

Thanks @Eve7 ,
i don’t know about wisdom, I think you show a lot yourself. I agree it is in the past, but it has all shaped parts of my future and present and still does and has contributed a lot to who I now am. So while I don’t dwell on it I know that the events and my reaction at the time, impact on my depression now and how I manage it.
I also believe it has given me empathy for others and the ability to have insight into how they are.
I wish that I made different decisions at times, but I can’t change that so I move on.
life and it’s purpose has always puzzled me.

Thank you @Peri for sharing your perspective. I now have much more to think about but I am sure my previous experiences are affecting my current depression..
Take care
