Re: Morning has broken

I went to bunnings last week and brought some new plants so have been watering them, hoping they survive. I'm very good at ki**ing them!

I set the sprinklers for our lawn to come on at 6 this morning. We have a few tanks that we use to water our garden.

No it's not humid here nor a cloud in the sky. Even the dog doesn't want to go outside.

Thats probably not too far for your pdoc @Eve7 Sometimes to get a good one you have to drive for quite awhile. Even better in holiday period.

I love the smell of Christmas trees. It does make the house smell nice.

I have packed everything away. My kids always comment that I have too many decorations!

I have a lot of weeds that have sprung to life in this weather @Snowie and gs1 has offered to pull them out. Just have to wait and see if he does it!

Good to see another wicket go. This has been a really good test match. I’m looking forward to the tennis and then the Winter Olympics.

Re: Morning has broken

oh weeds @Eve7 they do seem to be everywhere. I did some spraying last week.

I hope gs1 does pull them out for you. You might have to remind him!

I watch the tennis too hon. I used to go to the Aus open every year with a friend. She moved interstate a couple of years ago so don't go anymore. It's amazing how fast the ball travels between players.

The winter Olympics should be good too. Will be glued to the tv.

Re: Morning has broken

That would be great to go to the tennis @Snowie Ive been to the Brisbane International and I went to one session of tennis at the Sydney Olympics. S1 goes to the cricket every year in Brisbane.

Re: Morning has broken

Going to any event at the Sydney Olympics would have been great @Eve7

We do get to the cricket when it's in Melb. We also go to a few AFL games when they are on. Ever since the kids were young, we went. I think D's first game was when she was about 5 months old!

H and I will pretty much watch any sport on tv, except soccer. I just can't get into it.

H and D are F1 obsessed. I got them tickets to the Grand Prix for next year.

I think I got it from my dad. He always had some sort of sport on the tv or radio.

I’m not much into soccer either @Snowie but I did watch the women’s World Cup when it was in Australia.

My h liked most sports too and he loved fishing. This is the time of year I really miss him because we always had such great beach holidays in January. I still find it hard.

Re: Morning has broken

That would still be hard thinking about H and your holidays @Eve7 I'm sure you have some great memories. I sometimes don't think that it ever gets an easier, especially with specific things. Holiday periods can be even harder.

My Dad and I used to go fishing together, especially over the summer months. Always just the two of us. My brother was never into it.

Re: Morning has broken

S2 was always the one to go fishing with his dad @Snowie and now gs1 and gd1 are right into it.

The holiday season can be hard for all of us. It’s good that you used to fish with your dad. My dad liked fishing too but I didn’t go with him.

Re: Morning has broken

That must have been nice for S2 @Eve7

I find the holidays season hard too. So many great memories but at the same time so many rotten memories. It can be so confusing. Happy and sad at the same time.

Besides pdoc tomorrow do you have to do much?

Re: Morning has broken

My pdoc is near a big shopping centre @Snowie and I think I might buy a couple of things for my new kitchen, appliances that match the decor.
