Re: Morning has broken

Oh how frustrating @Eve7 😔

I'm sorry. ♥

I have been enjoying a mint tea while watching the end of day one of the womens test cricket in WA. Finished now. Was disappointed for Healy to get out on 99. Did you see any of it?

Hi @Bow 💝

How are you?

Thanks @Emelia8 @Bow I’m not ok but I’m safe. I minded gd2 last night and took her to school this morning. Her mother saw me at school as she was there with her son and came over to dump her latest complaints on me. Then when I arrived home I saw I still had the car seat in the car so another 200km return trip to take the car seat back. I’m just worn out and need to stop.✋

Oh no @Eve7 ! Sorry to hear 😢

I hope today is much, much better...

Re: Morning has broken

Good morning, it’s rained all night here and still hasn’t stopped so finding it hard to get motivated this morning.

The athletics is on 7plus @Emelia8 and coverage is pretty good. How is your little Hannah settling in? I hope all is going well for you?

Thanks for your kind thoughts @NatureLover . How are you?

Re: Morning has broken

Sounds very wet @Eve7 and last I heard there is another cyclone forming up North. So that may mean more rain to come for at least parts of QLD.

We have had thunderstorms here the past couple of days. One evening was a bit scary with a short burst of heavy wind, rain, lightening, thunder, etc. Got an inch of rain in very quick time. But we were only on the very edge of it thankfully. Some areas nearby got hit pretty hard. And we did need rain as its been very dry here.

I will try to catch some of the athletics, as I do love it. I used to be a sprinter and long jumper myself. Always got to Regional level, but never good enough to get to State. Could chuck a javelin too, but never liked it much.

Thanks for asking after little Hannah 🐶 She is doing great! Gorgeous little babe. I weighed her today and she now weighs 2.5kgs. Put on 0.5kg in the last couple of weeks. A bit of a growth spurt. Hoping for puppy school tomorrow. It was cancelled last Sat due to wet weather.

Re: Morning has broken

Thanks for your lovely response @Emelia8.

Athletics is my favourite sport but I can’t say my favourite discipline due to anonymity. I do love all of athletics except perhaps the hierarchy but that’s probably the same with anything.

I think the rain has stopped for now but it’s still very grey outside. I did a bit of weeding this afternoon but it’s hard to stay on top of that task…just grows like Topsy!!!

Hopefully it’s sunny for the rest of the weekend but not too hot. I love reading about your precious Hannah 💙

Re: Morning has broken

Yeah I love watching all the many disciplines of athletics too @Eve7 . I would have liked to have been a middle distance runner, like 1500mtrs, but I just didnt seem to have the right mix of speed and stamina. I was a bit better at cross country, but found it a bit boring. And of course I never ever did any training or had coaching of any kind. Anything I ever achieved was raw natural talent. Done once a year at school when athletics carnivals came around, then travel to District and Regional championships. Always felt the odd one out with other kids and their fancy shoes and starting blocks 😂 which I have never used. Ahhh, those were the days ♥

Many years after school, I competed for a few years in Masters athletics competitions around the state. That was fun, and I have a few medals to show for it. But I suffered a severe back injury at work and had to give up sport in general, in my early 40's.

Awww Hannah is such a delight, I just love her. After the rain today, I put her lead on and took her out front yard. I was pulling up a few weeds which are growing quickly after the rain we've had. And a good opportunity for Hannah to experience sights and sounds of passing traffic, walkers, etc.

There was a lady walking 2 large dogs past at one stage. And Hannah being the little social butterfly that she is, started whimpering and trying to drag me down to the road to meet these two dogs. So a little 2kg dog frantically dragging a 52kg person by the lead 😂. Anyway I asked the lady if she would allow her dogs to meet her, and she said sure, and all good. Hannah was happy once she had greeted dogs and lady. She is just so friendly and gets very excited, but kind of submissive at the same time. Its funny, almost like she knows she is a bit over the top. ♥ Anyway, its all part of her socialisation.

Do you have plans for the weekend?

Re: Morning has broken

I did some Masters Athletics too @Emelia8 but now I mainly coach kids and youth with a couple of Masters athletes occasionally. My gs2 is a keen runner and I usually go out with him on Saturdays.

Ive joined a knitting group so I’ll go to that on Sunday for a couple of hours before doing some of my Uni work. Apart from that I have plenty of housework to keep me occupied.

Off to bed now, so good night and sweet dreams 😴💚🩷💚😴

Thanks for asking, I'm doing a bit better after a pretty awful 2 months @Eve7 . Just preparing for a rental inspection now, which is always tough, but my mood is better thankfully.

Interesting to hear about your athletics, and yours too @Emelia8 .

Good luck with your uni studies this weekend @Eve7 🙂
