Confused and alone

Confused and alone

32yrs old. Female. Recently diagnosed with onset BPD, complex post traumatic disorder C-ptsd, depression and a hormone imbalance. Not coping with the break down of my marriage, being seperated and living on my own with my kids. My husband doesnt understand me. I live him so badly, but he struggles to understand that i cant regulate my emotional mood/state.... im quite a 'normal' woman. I work 6 days a week, look after my children (one who has autism and a re-occuring juvenile polycystic astrocytoma gliomas- grade 1 brain tumour) and do everyday things like most people. I just cant stop my impulsiveness when i get extremely anxious. Is there anyone out there like me? 😢

Re: Confused and alone

Hello @Lonelygirl I also found it difficult to manage kids after separation (and before). Can I ask what kind of impulsiveness? There are lots of people on the forum with different experiences.

I say things to my husband that i dont mean. But the words escape my mouth. I try to breathe deeply and imagine 2 sides of the coin... i dont think about the consequences ofy actions very well...

Hi @lonelygirl

I've not meet you before, so welcome to the forum.

I just wanted to respond to your post and I do hope you are getting some help to deal with your issues in your life. You may find talking through your anixety with someone who specializes in this area, and to learn ways to ground yourself and to reduce your anxiety levels.

Some of your story reasonates with me and especially hormone imabalnce and can really affect your mood and anxiety level. Hope you are able to get that treated and managed. It may make quite a bit of difference. Some of the anxiety could be a combination of things in your life.

I find it really diffcult with anxiety too and I have found reducing stress and exercise and diet really important for my overall wellbeing.

Re: Confused and alone

Thanks for answering my question so directly @Lonelygirl. I did not mean to trigger you into that degree of pain .. I wondered if it was other types of things. I hope you are ok. It is a bif thing to admit to self harm and Suicidal ideation in a post.

So unfotunately I now need to be honest like you and say yes ... sometimes it is better if I stay indoors ... sometimes a little impulse like that can catch me off guard ... yes in some ways I need to be on guard with myself.

I hope more people respond, the best benefits of this forum is the huge range of people and experiences.

I struggled with those things for a long time, gradually regained control of my home envirnoment and my decision-making and gradually those feelings receded. I still have issues and am on meds, but it is not as terrifying as it was.

@Lonelygirl What kind of things work for you ... you dont have to answer ... but it helps to open up about positive things too ... both polarities are a part of each of us.

Re: Confused and alone

I can relate to your experiences too. Post separation I had my children live with me for 4years. Late last year they moved in with their father. I fell apart, packed up & went abroad to Austria, where I have extended family, mum was a holocaust survivor. I've been back in Syd for 2mths & struggling with all of the associations around me, impulsive to just pickup & go again, I'm no longer a part of my children's lives. Struggling to integrate with normal living, routine. There seems to be a contagion of suicidal thoughts around me, been trialled on medication to help depressive thoughts, feelings of hopelessness, find even the most simplest of tasks difficult when once upon a time I managed a home, children, managery of animals & completed two degrees.
