Complete exhaustion

Complete exhaustion

Today was diagnosis, my son suffers severe high anxiety & ptsd. I'm glad to knowcwhatbit is I'm dealing, but also exhausted. I also suffer both of these disorders. Due to the domestic violence we had lived through whilst he was young. Even though I am no longer with his father, domestic violence impacts do not escape you. Community at large has little awareness even though I've come along way to accept this. I feel amazed that some nights I run on 3 hours sleep & function fine. I have recently dealt betrayal by someone I thought would never hurt me in such this way. I've learnt to live with much adversity in my life with little support. I've learnt many things. But I'm now so tired, that it's unexplainable. I felt only a few days ago that I couldn't go on. That I wanted to give all my things away directly related to me, to change my identity. I indeed felt suicidal as I have before in my life. Deep hurts are so crushing to the soul. The person who hurt never expected my response to be so intense. I guess in part it creates all sorts of mixed feelings. The general populace means little to me. My children keep me alive. Life is no simple ride!

Re: Complete exhaustion

Hi @Former-Member you are so right there is a lasting legacy from domestic violence. It sounds like you hold your children dear. Having them diagnosed is a big day. I hope you have some strategies to help you manage when the past enters your present life. You can rely on this forum for support in getting through the difficult days. What else helps you? Having lived through great adversity with little support I wonder if that can change now? Are you able to ask for support or is that difficult?

I imagine many people have let you down. Re-learning to trust good outcomes are possible takes time and evidence that it can happen. I hope this community can rise up to offer you this evidence. I wish for you to find your tribe and have others to hold dear and who hold you equally as dear.

Re: Complete exhaustion

Hello @Former-Member

I have noticed you around on the forum for a long time but dont post a lot .. we havent actually met ... hi

I have made plans for wills and burial plots and ceremonies and how to do it etc ... but as a mum I cannot do it to my children ... and am finally connecting enough to real people ... yes part of that is this forum .... who help give me the strength and belief that life is really worth living ... and that not everyone is bad ... but I also need to work on my boundaries and how close I let people in ... and how much to trust and I am learning to lower my expectation on others and my self ... for my kids I will walk through fire ... but not for everyone else ...

it is hard to face thaat we have not been able to stop the transmission of trauma from our generation through to our kids ... but I just keep working at giving my son the tools to work with it. In some ways there is a lot more information available than when i was young ... so I am hopeful he will get a life worth living on his own terms.

Good Luck ... they can still learn from us ... in our patterns of resilience and how we can rally and be organised etc ... without a guiding parent life can be tough ... which is what I had ... so a damaged one is better than none.

Re: Complete exhaustion

Thank you all @Squirrel, @Former-Member & @Apple blossom.
I feel the past week has been a real roller coaster dealing my emotional 'evens' to the incredibly hurt, exhausted ones. I Was lucky to see my psychologist. I realize that in fact I am being treated like I am invisible in my life presently. I'm naturally giving, accepting but when others are not interested in you, it sort of laid a foundation for me. I was just do sick of being walked over time again. I think I am a person that learns through hard lessons. This one has stepped me off in a positive note. I have moments of deep hurt, brokenness & despair. I still an faced with some people I'd prefer leave me my space but I plan to step up a few boundaries. It's so true @Apple blossom to accept oneself as being ok is okay for you. Gosh when I look at how I was serving everyone else I can see I definitely am ok even if I fall time to time. I hope you all enjoy a bit of sunshine today, such a pretty day. 😊❤

Re: Complete exhaustion

Sorry @Former-Memberdidnt read this reply til now.

yes I have had a person who was crushing to me and told me to toughen up ... but I already know I am tough in a non-hurting of others way ... just survival ... so now she was P** me off ... so i am calling her out ... on her bullying ... I am sick of being walked over .. and now I feel if nothing else .. I need to model that for my son too ... how NOT to be walked over

we give and serve those whom we feel need or respect it ... not because we are manipulated into doing it.

Thank you @Apple blossom. So true, I really like this. I feel my experiences have taught me a lot, but I'll keep on remembering this. I think I am like you, it's being driven to the point of feeling totally pi**** off, that I start firing back. Thank you 😊
