Something’s not right

I feel like I’m too far gone

I feel like I’m too far gone

Hi

im new I called sane today and the person talked about the forum so I joined.

I had a very bad session with my therapist today I feel like I'm too far gone because I've had so so many bad experiences with mental health services/hospital and surgeries for self harm that I am not reaching out much in crisis and I'm not getting medical care for my self harm anymore and just thinking about helplines or hospital I don't even consider and I get angry thinking about those things. I've been sick for years and seen therapists but it hasn't been successful and I'm scared that if this keeps of going I will stop any help and because I'm on disability pension will isolate at home and have given up on everything. Do you think it sounds like I will it worries me

thanks for listening to me

@Hellogoodbye Hi, and welcome.

I must say I had some really big feels reading your post. Mainly because I can identify with so much of what you have written,

I went through the same, surgery after surgery for SH, hospital, therapists. I did eventually find a social worker, but it took a long time, and yes, I felt, and still feel at times, out of reach, or too far gone to be helped. I have good days, I have bad days. But I think everyone can be reached, helped, or maybe, I hope they can anyway.

If you feel you can, or would like to, look around the forums. You are welcome to join any conversation you feel comfortable in joining.

Take care.

Re: I feel like I’m too far gone

Welcome, @Hellogoodbye . I feel for you, as I've read so many people's stories here that have been struggling to find good psychological support. I know I struggled in my 20s, but found good support (both psychologist and psychiatrist) in my 30s and onwards, which has really made a huge difference to me. It's worth it, if you can hang on and keep trying. It sucks having to do that, I know.

I don't think it sounds like you will give up and isolate at home - because you have reached out and joined these forums. That's a sign of hope. And there are other people here who understand and are in the same boat or have been in the past.

If you want to look for any topic here, just type it in the search bar above. Or feel free to join any threads. And if you want to talk to anyone in particular, put a @ and click on their name in the drop-down box like I did for you above, and that way they will get a notification you've replied to them.

Please take care of yourself.
