Hi @Minimooga

Welcome to the forums, sorry to hear you're having panic attacks. Ive been getting chest pains lately that is 'just' anxiety but keeps me a bit nervous all the same...

I'm glad you were able to push through the shopping, well done!! Do you have any help from a counsellor/gp etc or medication? Im also finding a lot of the day to day tasks really hard at the moment which is so frustrating... Hopefully it will ease up for you soon!

I am very blessed I have a close friend who is a tremendous help to me as my husband works away. Yes on medication and had my first psychologist appointment yesterday... Still hopeful things will improve but feeling scared of the future should be at prac and avoiding and hibernating ATM head is to scattered to process anything. Looking after my kids is my focus for now x

wow, such a lot going on for you right now! well done on going to your first appt yesterday! how did it go?

I have two kids as well, kids on their own is challenge enough without anything else i think! its holidays here in SA and so cold and wet they've gotten cooped up and a bit cray cray! sigh... indoor cubbies are being built at the moment.

Taking a break is good, i'm all for some hibernation and avoiding lol! its coming back out that can be hard though... i keep trying to do the self care stuff that my psychologist assures me is good for me - exercise, breathing, doing things for me..., etc but some days its just plain hard..

My appointment was ok but am impatient to be back to normal!! Mine have just gone back to school qld but weirdly I feel much better when they are at home and can hold it all together better. Yes might do so e meditation today and breathe!! Weird this is all I want to do is smoke and have not been a smoker for nine years apart from very socially... The triggers I suppose. I think it's the what it's that drive me nutty lol

Re: Fear of everything

Hi, I too have 'panic' attacks at the thought of shopping. What helps me at those times, when you've finished doing the things you HAVE to do, do something FOR you. A treat, cup of coffee, chokkie bikkie. Take the time to reward yourself for accomplishing the 'impossible'. Even as Minimooga suggested, just breathe!!!

Hi

Debilitating fear is utterly horiffic. For me at times it is impossible to leave my house. When I have to it can take 3 hours of preparation to get to the point when I can somewhat overcome the fear.

Good on you for keeping up the batle.

I have DPD but my psych hasn't worked it out...

I can't get myself to any exercise due to agoraphobia

Yeah sometimes we are one step ahead of them @jamesle2015

@Minimooga welcome to the forum ... some people pop on every few months some people visit most days ... I tend to be regular but every now and then I need a while where I dont read or post.

I was fearful for a long time.

My panic attacks started in supermarkets too ... it is the main place I have them .. but mostly they have receded. I used to be so hopeless at the end of my marriage (16 years ago) that I would also lose my car in the parking lot ... I am less stressed now so that has become rare. It was very worrying when I was severe like that for a few years ... I didnt think I could ever get out of that mental confusion, exhaustion and overwhelm. I still struggle but life is a lot better.

Cheers Apple
