Feeling so isolated. Anyone else feeling the same?

Feeling so isolated. Anyone else feeling the same?

Have had to isolate myself from friends and family due to them not understanding what it's been like for me struggling with PTSD, constant anxiety and fatigue. Not only did I loose my father years ago, but I lost my family.
I've tried to reach out for help from friends etc but they're too busy. Poured my heart out about something extremely traumatic and not once have they asked if I'm ok. Finding it too hurtful to try and have friends. Seems I have to put on my pretend happy face for them.
I've had to isolate and hide from everyone, because it's too hurtful trying. The trouble is I really need someone to talk to who understands.

Hello Bridget....I understand how u feel and am in a similar situation. It gets tiring pretending to be happy when u dont feel that way and tired of saying the same old things to friends. Do u exercise, listen to music or have joined any groups etc? For me, if I distract myself into other pursuits, I can push my loneliness and heartache way for the time being and stop feeding it with pain and sorrow. Give it some joy and sunshine. It may not go away, but it is how I cope day to day. I hope this is of some help Bridget. 🙂 Have a lovely day.

Hi @Dolphins Thankyou for your kind message. I am able to exercise lately, thank goodness. I either go for a fast walk or do pilates/yoga.

I dont cope with socializing lately, but I have a teenage daughter and I keep busy with her, when shes not at school or with friends. I find it a joy being involved in her life.

Im not having the greatest day today. I get frustrated that I wake up every day having to find energy and motivation to do the daily chores. After that, I often dont feel like doing anything fun for myself.

I do go out though, for lunch, shopping etc, with my daughter, we enjoy looking for bargains.

I am determined to get well and enjoy life.

What sort of things do you like to do?
