Grief

Grief

I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me or anything like that. I just need some advice about how to deal a bit better with the loss of a friend. Whenever i go somewhere or see something that is really nice or any little thing it always goes through my head " oh yeah i will tell my friend about this" and then i have to keep telling myself that i can't because he's dead. It happens everyday. All the time. Like i have to keep reminding myself that i will never be able to talk to him ever again. I find so many things i want to tell him about but he is gone. I miss him a lot. I know it is supposed to get better with time but this constant forgetting that hes dead and then reminding myself is really hard. I go for a drive in town and keep seeing his car thinking o there he is i will wave. He was not a boyfriend or anything like that but he was a good friend for about 15 years and he taught me so many things and i could ask him anything. I feel a bit lost.

Re: Grief

@Former-Member . She sounds like a friend that everyone should have. Sounds like you still remember her like it was yesterday. I hope i will remember my friend the same way. I feel like i have lost my arm or a leg a great big void that is growing. He died a month ago and i haven't been able to cry about it till today. Been keeping so busy and trying to distract myself that it hasn't really sunk in. I keep thinking that things will get better and better they will. It must of been hard when hubby left not to be able to talk to her. Thankyou for listening. Just knowing there are others who have been in the same boat really helps. Thankyou all for your support.

Hi @Former-Member @Calmblueocean @Former-Member @France

I am really tired so I had to give up remembering who said what and just jump in

I'm a bereaved mother too and after my son died I read everything I could on grief to just get on with my tattered life. Grief work is hard work - we have to go on and for a long time life goes on -- making no sense - how can other people carry on normally when ours has been destroyer?

It's devastating to lose any one we value - a huge space appears in our lives that can never be filled

Re: Grief

@Calmblueocean , sometimes I feel like I am forgetting her face, she had the most gorgeous smile. I just take out her photos to keep it fresh. I promise it will get easier but after only a month don't expect to much of yourself. Don't hold on the tears, don't feel bad if you get angry at him for leaving it's all very normal.

She was the only girlfriend who normalise my DID. She would sit with my child alter and stroke her hair, she would drink with my drunk alter never letting her get to drunk and she would bit*h with my protector who at the time was always angry. She left this world wearing my engagement ring as she would always steal it when I took it off to do the dishes or have a shower. My now ex hubby brought me a new one exactly the same one but also brought one each for our two daughter and hers. Sorry I am rambling. 💖

@Former-Member ramble all you like i am glad you remember her so well. I just realized i have to live the rest of my life without him . That's a bit depressing

Everyone else who has lost someone close has to as well. Just read a post that made me realize that and it is the saddest part of it all. I will be ok because the sun always rises on a new day and maybe i will feel a little better. Again thankyou all.
