Yes, sounds like you get it with the music. Yeah, I've been in a toxic relationship before the last one, with my kids dad for 17 years. Can't believe I jumped into another toxic relationship.

Sometimes (and I am not it's your case), it's a pattern we need need to break. We need to look within us and try and workout what is missing from us, have a look at the relationships we saw as children and what we get from these toxic people. For me staying in my first marriage was because I was from a split family and growing up was hard. I wanted my kids to have their mum and dad together at any cost because of how hard it was on me and my siblings growing up. While my dad and my stepmom's relationship with each was fine, my bio mother was in and out of toxic relationships. But what I got from that was good or bad she always had their attention, something I sorely craved from my parents. I was 16 when I meant the kids dad and he was 32 and boy did I have his attention and I never realised how bad things where until our 3 child was born. By then my stepmother's famous words came back to me "you made your bed, now you can lay in it" and I did for another 4 years.

Give yourself some time to heal my friend @Purplerain amd when you come out the other side I hope you find someone worthy of you.

Thanks so much @Former-Member for your support. Yes, I have to look within myself to work out what this stems from and not to ignore red flags. What you said makes sense. You're right, I need time to heal and when the time is right, I'll find someone.
