Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic

Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic

First post.

I tried to take my life just before Christmas. Ended up interned for a few weeks. It was a good experience for me. Left feeling better. 3 months down the track and all those gains are gone.

My question is, what if I don't want help? What if I don't want someone to stop me? Does that make sense to anyone? I know I could call a crisis line, go to see the doctor AGAIN! Talk to the psychologist, psychiatrist, GP, counsellor etc etc. But what if I don't want to be talked out of it? I am just sooo tired. And after years and years of this, it does seem like all we have been doing is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's okay to feel tired and to want to stop for a while. You've been trying really hard to do better things for yourself. Your experience has been really miserable lately. I get that sometimes it feels like the doctors and crisis lines just seem to want to push solutions onto you and to find some way to magically cheer you up. I'm glad you came back today, and that you're still here. There's at lifeboat still afloat in these icy seas.

Eve7 - no apology required, but thankyou anyway. Analogies are just a tool I have learnt to use to make sense of something in my own life.

@RubyBlue

I use analogies too. Your 'deckchairs on Titanic' is a great description.

I don't want to add to your darkness but I relate to all you wrote.
