Bloody Furioua

Bloody Furioua

Got notified by credit union of unusual transactions out of my account. Go and get print out of all of these. I then ring paypal & playstation network. Yep. My 13 year old has used my credit card & spent over $600 on gaming stuff. I'm furious. He was with me at the bank and said nothing. I dropped him off at his mates. I had $7 in my purse - I gave him $5.
Then when I found out what happened I droveaaround town looking for him because he wouldn't answer his mobile. Finally found him. Said he will pay me back - with what?
I told him to get out of my car & go to my mums. Not to come home tonight. I was so angry I then went to the bottle shop. I opened the fridge door, went to put my hand on the cans & then inside I just screamed NO!!!! 8 weeks today sober. I won't let him cause me to restart.
I'm furious. I'm so angry I'm shaking. He has devestated my trust in him. He knows we are struggling financially, but I give him what I can.
I'm going to take 2 of my PRN's & sleep. I'm getting so over wrought. Have to stop my negative self talk before it gets to loud.
Sorry this is not exactly normal forum talk, but I just had to put it out somewhere.

Hi @utopia

I'm sorry to just read now about your son and what he did. I would be furious as well. I agree with the others - it was great that you didn't go for the bottle, it must have been difficult to not drink but fantastic that you didn't. Well done. I am proud of you, that is a big achievement., As for your son, yes good idea you sent him to your mums.

I would write down a list of jobs for him to do around the house, even let him know that it was very wrong of him to take your credit card and buy stuff. How will he pay you back? He is too young to be working part time.

Raising teenagers is the hardest time, it is so difficult with their hormones everywhere. I do know I have three now that are past the teenage years. I hope you can sit down with him and explain to him what he has done is so wrong and what the consequences are now. and how will he pay you back.

I hope you tried to get some sleep last night. Thinking of you today.

Take care.xxxooo

Re: Bloody Furioua

Thank you @Faith-and-Hope & @BlueBay. I appreciate your comments and you're both right. I've read up on the teenage years before. Just forgot about it when the going gets tough.
He sat with me on the phone while we spoke to playstation network. He heard the man say firstly that he illegally entered a wrong date of birth and then illegally used my debit card. He heard the man so, no, he will not refund any of the money. Later I explained to my boy that the only way to get my money back - was to take him to the police and charge him. That I wouldn't do that bec he's normally good. & the small town we live in will label him and he'll neved get a job here. He handed me the $38.65 cents he had in his money box & is now busy doing "yucky" chores around the house.
I'm hopeful he's learned his lesson.

Thanks @Appleblossom. It's good to know your son grew up a bit with regards to money. My boy is well aware the worse thing is the deceit. Gaining back that trust is not an overnight thing. At least he knows I love him. That doesn't stop just because he was an idiot. lol
