Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hello @Emelia8

Not, I imagine, the way that you would have wanted a first excursion from hospital to have gone. I am sorry that it progressed in such a difficult manner and that there were events that affected you badly, in a personal sense.

Having been able to, or even needing to disclose your position and concerns, I do hope that the information you have given and you, in particular, are treated with respect, care and appropriately expressed concern. I know that after the time has passed, it seems so short. However, I also hope that the remainder of the week will be productive and settling for you. It may even be that your disclosure offers some lead as to how to support you in the process of returning to independence even more quickly. That would certainly be my wish for you, if that is what you would feel comfortable with.

What ever decisions or recommendations that are offered, I hope that they will serve you in the best way possible. The fact that pain medication is still a significant part of the conversation is disappointing. In that respect, I had certainly hoped for a better outcome.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

@Emelia8 Sending lots of hugs for you.

im so sorry that today was so difficult, but will say, like many others, how very brave to let someone in on your trauma. I truly hope that it helps by having them understand a little more of what is happening for you. I hope that a kind hearted nurse checks in on you tonight, I know how yucky it can feel after sharing such a deep and vulnerable part of us.

💕

Aww, thank you for popping in and sending all those fruits and plants and trees and coffee, @Anastasia 🙂

I wanted to tell you - I am making a concerted effort this Friday - Sunday to leave my left arm alone and let it heal up. The left hand is healed up, so I want to be able to not wear any band-aids on the left arm at work also. It's a huge effort - it's soooo itchy!!! I'll see how I go, then maybe after that try the right arm and hand too.

Your trading hours - are they 5 days? 7 days? Just asking as I wanted to know if you get weekends off, or maybe other days off each week.

Sending wishes for your sleep and grief, also for your family...

Hello dear friend @NatureLover sending wishes for your left arm to completely heal 🙏 well done on your hand 💚

5 days only, preferably weekdays long-term. This week I've been up at 6 and drive away from trading at 5. Just testing the water as to who's around.

I've been asked to do a Saturday morning for a few months (seasonal) it would be ridiculous not to do it as it is likely to be very profitable. Not a long term goal as it will be huge but I'll do it as I am in debt now to cover along with regular rent etc...

Bf said he will do Fridays for me so I'll have Friday's and Sunday's home. Hopefully I'll get better organised with meals, washing, groceries as they are long days so I no longer have much puff to wash or do chores at night. Working from home meant my washing was always reasonably up to date. Still winning overall, at the end of the day there's always my "when times are tough" undies when I run out (like today) haha.

So proud of my boy this week. Gosh I'd love nothing more than to tell you and show you everything I've achieved.

Hoping for a good day for you, some sun on the weekend and time to read, walk, drink great coffee and eat yummy food. Love you 💚
