Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Hello @NatureLover

I hope today is kind to you in the office 🙏✔️☕🤗

Yes missing Em too 😔

I hope I didn't scae them both away 😱 I say that in jest...

It's hard when we don't know what's going on and we worry, just something we "sign up for" I guess. What doesn't break you, makes you type thing? I'm sure you can relate. I'm relatively new on the scale of things. No response required NL 💛💚

Vaccination was a smooth process and neither of us suffered greatly. So thank you your wishes worked 🙏

Take care dear NL 🌄

Hello @NatureLover

How are you? Is your foot healing?

Are you coping with lockdown?

Hello dear friend, thank you for asking

I'm sorry my message was so short yesterday, I suddenly felt nothing left in the tank. I went back to bed and couldn't face anything all day. I even cancelled my click and collect appt at the library!! 😮 I have got up and am trying again today. At least it will be sunny later.

My heel /arch pain is slightly better thanks, I'm not having as many painkillers thank goodness.

I am generally OK with lockdowns, as I can still go to work. How are you doing with your extended lockdown? I suspect you and your son might be struggling? 😞

How are you enjoying your TAFE course? How is your tank, is it still low?

Sending much 💚

Hello dear @NatureLover

Thank you for your message. Please never apologize for the length of what you write. I understand and have no expectation of you responding x

I am so sorry your tank was depleted, I am so proud that you listened to your mind and body and rested. I hope today has continued to be a better day for you.

I am happy the heel/arch pain has improved and I hope that it continues to do so.

I am glad you are doing ok with this lockdown, yes being able to go to work gives you something to look forward to as well as a change of scenery.

I am doing ok. Couple of difficult days, bit did some digging and I'm in a better place. Thank you.

My boys doing well, I set up a support a few months back and he declined. I was disappointed. This morning he told me he contacted the guy and has asked for it to start, Woot woot. I am happy. The guy hasn't got back to him, I guess being the weekend so I suspect he'll hear Monday 🤞

I am loving Tafe, thank you. I feel lucky to be doing it. So far so good no major amount of homework ta this stage.

Anyhow, better keep moving, I did some gardening and tidying so have showered, washed hair and have a face mask on. Must wash it off and then prepare dinner with the end goal to be sitting down by the fire by 430pm. Overall it's been a great day.

Love and hugs NL, thinking of you x

Hello dear friend, thanks for your newsy post. I'm happy to hear about the extra support for your boy 🙂 @Anastasia

Sorry about your couple of difficult days 😥 I also find that digging deeper helps, facing up to what I'm feeling and trying to work out why. I've been on automatic pilot now for a few days so need to do that too.

One thing I've noticed is that saltandpepper can really draw you out to express yourself and your news...I knew I could look on his threads for news of you. I hope he comes back so we know how he's doing.

I'm glad you feel in a better place (as of yesterday, anyway)...I had to giggle at myself as I am a bit dopey today and thought that you'd had a shower, washed your hair and put a Covid face mask on...I was wondering why you would do that lol 😀 Anyway, I was so glad to read you'd had a "great day".

Thanks for your different perspective on this, as I had seen going back to bed and being unable to face anything for the rest of the day as a failure. I understood why I did it, but was feeling bad about not achieving anything that day.

And yes, I had a much better day yesterday 🙂 Am struggling today, but still hope to achieve a bit of tidying and laundry.

Hello dear @NatureLover

Oh you made me laugh out loud about the Covid face mask after my shower lol. I rarely put a skin treatment on but with the outdoor fire and looking increasingly older it felt right and good after 😄

I'm so sorry that you too have been on automatic pilot now for a few days, it feels heavy doesn't it?

Yes it's necessary to dig deep sometimes. It's confronting but it really does help. I don't know if you look at the Moon but it was full on Sunday. I was particularly "ferol" leading up to it. I can't recall what day I made the consciousness decision to improve my mindset and my situation but I do know it was after the full moon. I feel a ton of darkness has shifted and so much "lighter" now. I hope that you can also help your mindset by digging deep.

Oh NL, I so hope that saltandpepper comes back so we know how he's doing.

I felt a connection straight away with him. He is very special. You know those lightening bolt moments in life? We had those... a lot 🙏 I guess I talked to him about me cause I knew in doing that it took him out of his own head, and that helped him. I know I don't need to tell you that I don't like to talk about me and my issues but I did it for him and in turn it helped me and brought us particularly close 🙏

Talking about it being funny that I don't like to talk about my issues, even on a recent helpline call I found myself asking how the person calling was coping with he lockdown and if they were ok 🤣

Re persective...

It's a pleasure and yes it is absolutely a different perspective isn't it?

My Naturopath gave me this "gift" of this a different perspective. I used to think I was lazy when I rested and feel like a failure too. She enlightened me with this way of thinking...to listen to my mind and body. I'm still learning to do it all the time but I do listen mostly and it does help. I hope you can take this gift and carry it with you for when you need it NL. Today sounds like one of those days perhaps? I'm sorry you're struggling. If you can use this gift it might help today?

It's funny when I've seen my Naturopath and re tell our conversations like the above example to my boy on our walks he says things like "Oh Mum, you've seen your freaky witch lady again" lol. I laugh and tell him we all have to believe in something.

I'm the only one awake and up here, that's rare! I'm usually a sleepy head on the weekends.

It's overcast here and has the potential to rain. I have a load of washing on and I think I'll do some diamond painting while they sleep. A quiet day I think.

I should tell you my exciting news too, I bought a beautiful new quilt set yesterday online. Goes in line with a better headspace. It's a beautiful shade of green.

Usually I have a white one with "blush" throw pillows, or a blush one with white pillows. I've not had green before. I'm a bit excited. I think I will use my white and blush pillows (I like pillows lol) with this green one. I will pop a photo up for you of what I have ordered, minus the throw pillows.

That's about it for me. I so hope that today improves for you my friend. I'm certain that if you need to rest your mind and body the chores can wait. Love hugs and sunshine 🤗💚💛🌄

Re: Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Thanks for your lovely long post yesterday, it made me smile and warmed my heart. Thanks for trusting me with your news too. @Anastasia

I laughed at you asking the helpline counsellor how they were doing...that sounds like you! 😄

I'm glad you feel lighter now, well done for shifting your mindset, not easy to do.

I reckon saltandpepper will be back, as you have that deep connection.

I tried to connect deeply with myself yesterday but it didn't work, I think cos of the depression. It ended up being a bad day with nothing achieved, and I'm even off my food - I'm a huge foodie usually! Everything is a massive effort. Even getting ready for work, I'm so exhausted just getting ready that I wonder if I can even go to work. But work usually does me good and takes me out of myself.

I hear you about your gift, and thank you. I am trying to use it, to not feel guilty about not achieving anything. Trying to just move on and have a fresh day each day. It's partially working I think.

I'm actually doing too much scrolling on my phone, usually the news or Facebook. I follow positive things on Facebook so that's not an issue, but I think the news is becoming an issue. I did manage to pick up books at the library on Saturday, so reading is a much more positive thing for me to be doing if I'm not up to house cleaning.

I like your pale ice green bed linen - so restful, and you know I like green shades as they represent nature to me. Blush throw pillows will go beautifully with it 🙂 New bed linen is exciting, I agree. I ordered a new douna set a while ago - large dark and pale green leaves with flecks of warm colours on a white background. I have never had a pink douna set, and would like to try that one day, but haven't seen one yet that I'd like.

I did go out in nature yesterday, and both times it was the best part of my day. I'm running late this morning so may not get time for a leisurely walk. Don't even want breakfast and it's already 7.50am - usuallly I've had breakfast by 7am. Thanks for listening to all of this

Hoping that this week is a good one for you and both your boys. Am so glad you're enjoying Tafe so much 🙂

Much 💚🌿🌻🌞

Hello dear @NatureLover

Thank you for your message although I hope you didn't overdo it when you were needing to rest. I mean it when I say I have no expectations in how, when or what you respond with 👀👂🙏

Oh I am so sorry to read this. I know how hard you are trying and some days no matter how hard we try we just can't do it. That's ok too. Again it's listening to your mind telling you it needs time out. I have a feeling you did get to work today and I am holding hope that it helps to lift your mood somewhat 🙏

Well done for getting to the library, that in itself is a huge achievement. The news is ridiculously depressing at the moment so reading for enjoyment is a great option.

You've inspired me to find a book today to read. I have many beside my bed I have been given but I want to choose one. In face I know wht it will be. My boy and I were discussing it last weekend so I will jump inline shortly and order it from Amazon to my tablet ✔️

Thank you for the inspiration 💚

Well done for getting out in nature yesterday. I got out to collect fire wood and a quick walk along a local river sticking to the rules of five km distance. It was nice.

I know you are a foodie (as am I) so I'm leaving you with some food inspiration in the hope it makes you hungry and feed your beautiful soul. It did me that's for sure 😄

I'm off for a follow up ct scan today, so a drive and outing, then on the way home pick up click and collect groceries, woot woot lol.

Please take care of you. I have you in my heart today. 💚💛🌄☀️🌻💛💚
