Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

@Emelia8 I've just popped back on again as I've just read an ABC news article, posted an hour ago, saying that any age group will eventually be able to have the Pfizer or Moderna Covid vaccinations. Obviously later on down the track, when more stocks arrive in Australia. It's good news!

@Anastasia thanks for your two caring messages and the update from you! I am shocked that that pdoc can do that to you and your son 😞 That's outrageous.

I see the problem though - if your son swops back to his previous pdoc, that becomes a problem if he has to go into hospital. 😞

I'm really hoping a solution becomes available very soon, as you said he was due for the next med soon...

Also, am thinking of you lots today as it's your boss's last day. Also pleased to hear you've put a resume in to a place closer to home.

I'm fine, I've had two extremely busy days, thanks for asking Things slow down again as of today and I can catch up.

Sending you much 💚, I haven't forgotten that you said you were in need of it at the moment.

Awww, thank you, dear friend! @Anastasia

So do you!!!

Can I tell you something? I was never praised, only criticised harshly as a child. It was a policy of my father, which he stands by to this day. It did me untold damage*, but what I wanted to say was, these days if I do something difficult, I tell myself, "Good girl." I know, I am 49 years old, but I am re-parenting myself by doing it. So to answer your lovely meme, yes, I do give some love to myself...The burnout last year/this year also taught me that I HAVE to give love to myself, it's essential. 🙂

*I've read studies which say that for emotionally healthy children, a parent needs to give 4 times the amount of praise as criticism, as the human psyche dwells more on the negative and needs to be balanced out. So for me, getting 100% criticism and zero praise, no wonder I have lifelong damage. I am not thinking of you or anyone else as a parent when mentioning this, just me and my father. You are overflowing with love, which my father definitely wasn't! Just daily harsh anger and criticism. Which, by the way, I finally stopped taking at age 47 🙂

I hope you can take some 'me time' this weekend...and nothing stressful happens. Here's some hugs and some more 💚 for you.

That makes me sad to learn for you are so special and so worthy of love @NatureLover. I'm truly sorry for the childhood that you endured. I can sadly relate to it too.

Enjoy your weekend gorgeous. I will promise my best to as well. Love and hugs 💞💐🌹
