Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

You saw my news 😭😭😭

I was going to come here and tell you as I know you would totally relate. Oh NL, I am devastated for him and lil ol me. His position is no longer, made by overseas head office overseas who are number crunchers. He is my "best friend" and confidant and the only one TRULY in my corner.

Oh gosh, @Anastasia - I hadn't realised he was being made redundant 😞 This is a shock for you 😞

What are the chances of working for the manager you'd be happy to report to? It sounds like your role is too valuable to be let go of!

You must be worried about finances, as you were before this happened...and I assume to retrain for a MH role would cost money too. What would you do if you are reassigned to the customer service manager? Would you leave and start something new? So much for you to consider and process now!

At least you were slightly prepared for something I guess, since last week's naturopath's video. But am sorry you will be separated from your close friend who you work well with 😞 I hope you can keep in contact with him!

I'm glad to read this, you are so strong, @Anastasia 🙂 I hope they let you know soon what they have planned for you.

Thinking of you lots and sending hugs and 💚

Hopefully there is every chance, as my day to day role revolves around me organising shipments/work in his direct department. In saying that he's polar opposite to my current manager in sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomany ways. We are "friends" but not sure about his management practices. I would "give it a go" I think, but again unless he (possible other managers that utilise my "services" go in to battle to keep me then I'm gone too...see what happens 🙂

Thank you for your message sweets xoxo

See you for a cuppa Morning tea for World Refugee Day here?

@Anastasia I haven't seen what happened in regard to your work, I only know it wasn't good. Were you offered a role with the manager you didn't want to work with? And have you decided what to do? Concerned for you 💚

Hi sweetheart, I am so sorry today is not a good day for you.

I hope you have some moments today that lift your spirits.

Sending you love and hugs 💗

I really don't know @NatureLover, management have assured me it's business as usual. I can't really explain how I'm feeling other than a bit caught in the middle. I'm getting emails from overseas requesting information that I ordinarily wouldn't be asked for. My boss is very unhappy and I've seen emails that he has responded to, pretty much say don't ask me I've checked out already.

My concern is that I will be bullied into having more to do with "report" / "work for" the bully staff member that I draw the line at working for and having much to do with. I think it will be her manger that I will have to report to (still yet to learn my fate in that regard). His loyalty is to her department not mine.

With covid lockdown now and my Dad with covid symptoms my headspace is not good but I'll be ok, please don't worry.

I just have to ride the wave and avoid making a knee jerk decision because financially I have to work, I do not have the luxury to choose heart decisions over head.

Thank you for asking, I appreciate the fact you care. I care for you too x

@Anastasia I'm sorry for the delayed reply to your news. I had a couple of bad days and stayed away. Better today and catching up with everyone's news.

How is your Dad? I really hope he doesn't have Covid!

Your headspace wasn't good 3 days ago...how are you doing now? The work situation sounds complex...when does your boss friend actually leave? It doesn't sound like "business as usual"! Would it be OK working for the bully manager's boss? I know it's not your department, but they obviously don't want to waste your skills.

I am wondering if you can trial working for the department and boss you don't want to work for, and then look for another job if it works out to be bad?

Thanks for your care and good wishes in your message

Sending much 💚

Hello beautiful,

I literally was coming here to say hi and check on you and here is a message from you!!

Thank you @NatureLover, I have missed you very much 💞

I thought you might have been struggling having seen less of you since your post to say you weren't doing great. It's soooo good to see you here, and that you are feeling better, I am sorry that the last few days have been difficult.

Thank you for asking after me...

My headspace is better although I feel like the meat in the sandwich between Management and my Director. Lots of red tape and politics. Quite sad really.

I feel more confident about their intentions to keep me. Overseas have reached out and asked me to be their face in a marketing campaign lol. I'll be hard pressed finding a decent photo without sunnies to send them. I've never felt comfortable in photos. My only nice ones are of my wedding day 100 years ago lol, can't send those 😜

It also have to supply a brief sum up of my role so I will be making it known how much involvement I have across the entire company in Oz 💪✔️

At this stage I have no idea who I will report to but will give it a go for all of the reasons I've said before. So hoping it is onwards and upwards from here.

I don't really have any other news, not much happening with the lockdown here. I'm yet to turn in the news and see the latest, none of its good. I intend on looking up to book in for the Pfizer jab with my boy over the coming days, eek bit scared. It makes sense to do it whilst in lockdown so that if it knocks me around I can stay in my pj's and have a quiet day.

Love and hugs dear @NatureLover 🌸💐💞
