Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

@outlander I've got my new reading glasses. They're freaking me out! I like the style but they're making my distance vision blurry and when I take them off or put them on they make everything blurry for a minute or so till my eyes adjust. Feeling a bit dizzy! Do you think I'll adjust?

Not really @NatureLover but I know of your special connection and I know you would have been concerned. In real life I would have excitedly texted or called you to let you know so I was very happy to see you here today. Oh and yes your eyes will adjust. It's not nice to begin with. I'm sure the optometrist warned you it takes a little time to get used to them. You won't even notice soon, you'll just have 20 20 vision again 🙏💕

@Anastasia , yes am very concerned about Maggie. I trust she knows what's best for herself though, and that that includes taking a break right now 😞

Thank you so much for reassuring me about the glasses! The optometrist didn't warn me that it would be like this to start with! I don't like the dizzy feeling 😞 But I have to say, the ease of reading is amazing 🙂 It's like the pages have got so much bigger, including on my phone!

Gosh, not good, silly considering it is your first pair. Never mind now you can be reassured all is good. I remember looking out of the window of the first floor beinag able to read numberplates on vehicles which was a first! You'll love them, enjoy @NatureLover xox

They might take abit to adjust @NatureLover
Did you have reading glasses previously? If so did the same thing happen last time?

I would perhaps take them back if your not finding the adjusting part is getting better just to get them checked.
My eyesight in general has trouble adjusting but not so much when im putting them on, more when i take them off esp if ive been wearing them for a while. When i put mine on it usually only takes a blink or 2 and it helps.

If the lenses arent right they can make you dizzyand cause headaches because your eyes are straining to much. See how it goes for a few days though.

Are you getting double vision even while wearing them and reading or is it only for a few seconds when putting them on/off ?
