Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Any diagnosed germophobes or hoarders on this forum?

Hi, I have just joined. I have a few mental illnesses, but am especially interested in hearing if there are any diagnosed germophobes or people with hoarding disorder on these forums?

I don't know any germophobes in real life, and would be interested to know how any of you pre-Corona germophobes are doing. Can you find enough sanitiser? If not, what are you using instead? Has your germophobia gone sky-high in this pandemic? Do you find it less or more lonely now that nearly everyone is a self-confessed germophobe?

My germophobia is quite bad - I can't have anyone in my house, and need lots of sanitiser when I go out. E.g. I use it after leaving my house and before I get in the car; again before I touch the steering wheel, again after touching my purse, again before putting my seat belt on, etc. I am struggling to find enough sanitiser. If I run out, I was thinking about diluting some disinfectant and putting it into an old water bottle to take out with me. I had one really bad panic lasting 3 days that was debilitating, due to COVID-19, but after that thankfully my germophobia came back down to normal levels. I guess normal levels are not that great but at least I am used to them!

I am strangely finding it more lonely as a diagnosed germophobe now, and would really like to meet some other germophobes online and hear how you're going. At least I had a friend tell me that I was in a stronger position than him, during this health crisis, as he had trouble remembering to wash his hands, whereas I wash them a hundred times a day already!

Thanks for your message and for thinking of me, @Anastasia

Did you get your test results yesterday? <crossing fingers it's not too bad>

I had a bad day yesterday, but then at the end of the day I realised I hadn't taken my AD! Very unusual that I forget. Also the internet was down all day, which really threw me. It's back this morning, so am drinking coffee, getting myself together for a better day hopefully.

Sending 💙 and hugs for the difficult time you're having...

@Emelia8 I'm glad that yesterday went much better for you than last Thursday. But I was alarmed you dozed off momentarily while driving - thank goodness you are staying up there for the rest of the week 😮

I hope that today's radiation therapy goes well...sending firm hugs and 💜

@Eve7 I was thinking of you yesterday, getting your cast off! How did it go? And does this mean you can drive now and go back to work? 💛

Hello @NatureLover

Thank you for thinking of me.

Yes I got the results and the bl00ds still point to lupus so he offered me a referral to a specialist to discuss a treatment plan. I said I will continue on the path I am on and in addition I need to look at life changes which is on my to do list which is rather long but will happen. Let's just say my thoughts at this stage are to take leave in January 2022 and not be available.

I think you know this but so you are in the loop my Dad has been having chemo treatment for cancer and yesterday he received his scan results to determine the outcome of the treatments. Sadly they aren't good and it has spread to his lymph nodes. I am taking the day off from work pretty much logging off after this message to head over there to fully learn more and have lunch with them, hugs etc. It all seems quite surreal, like someone else's life looking in. Not one that I would want them to endure either. My head is foggy and I'm really no good to work on a day like today, when I told my boss he said go now!

Anyway I should go but I am with you all here in spitrit and will check back in later today,

love and hugs to all of you - you are all vey special @Emelia8 @outlander @Maggie @Eve7 and anyone else following that I have missed - it isn't intentional xoxo
