Trying to get help

Trying to get help

I have tried to reach out to beyond blue and lifeline tonight but couldn't get through. I tried and failed to get myself help. I feel so desperately alone and fearful. Having to write an email to workcover explaining what the appointment with their psych did to my mental state and it's just trigging me So bad. It's kind of what the dam point I just want to quit my job just so I don't have to jump through their hoops. My anxiety has reached a new high today and I am feeling everything so acutely.

I have been there for so many people over the years and yet when I need help there is no one. They say text me anytime, I am always here for you, but what they don't say is I am here for anytime as long as you don't mention your mental illness. They brush me off if I am not my happy self.

I am just over not being enough

Re: Trying to get help

Thanks for that @outlander .

Yea it would be nice to start something like that just to keep me distracted when I need to be.

Re: Trying to get help

I hope so too @outlander. it would be nice to have something to do that forces me to keep my mind active. These days concentrating on anything is real rough.

Re: Trying to get help

That's one thing I don't know how to get back. My concentration use to be so great. I could sit and read for ages or do a puzzle but now forget it. My memory is also really bad. Somedays I can't remember anything about the day before. Even the little things like what we ate for dinner or what we watched in tv. Somedays when I hop in the car and drive somewhere I can't even remember how I got there.

Re: Trying to get help

yeah same here @Lee82
I hope my concentration will come back more as I work through recovery.
ive taken to doing things in small amounts and acknowledging that I cant do things for hours on end like I could before and find things that don't take ages to do like my crocheting, its about an hour to make one piece so I can do them here and there without being too frustrated or running out of concentration

Re: Trying to get help

It's great to hear you have been able to acknowledge you can't do things for more than an hour and have adjusted things in your life to cater for that for now @outlander Sounds like you are kind to yourself and accept how things are for now. That is amazing to hear and quite inspirational.
