Black dot campaign

Black dot campaign

Hi everyone,

I have read an interesting article on the internet today about a movement that helps women who are i nabusive relationships to get help, the whole idea is women post a picture with a black dot on their hand so people know they are being abused, it is not fool proof and i have been told it hahs alerted some abusers that their partners are seeking help.

if you are reading this i hope you read the article it is a really interesting concept and i do hope it or something similar can be spread through out society that women can get the help they so desperatly need.

here is the article i hope everyone reading this reads the article and discusses it, thank you for your time.

Hi @Jacques. I heard a similar thing where you have a safe word. You can teach this to kids with regard to inappropriate touching or adults or children who are being abused.
Yiu let close friends or family know your safe word. For example your childs safe word might be carrots. When on a sleepover, when you speak to them on the phone and they say "carrots". You get straight oved there as they are not safe. Maybe the same can aplly if a friend rings or texts the word "carrots". You ph the police straight away.
I thought this was a clever idea. With a chikd, it may not be that they use the word if being assaulted, but if they feel uncomfortable for any reason when they are around other people.
What do you guys think

Hi @utopia,

What a brilliant idea, yes a safe word, so wonderful, i wish their was something for people to learn it, a way of breaking this vicious cycle.

I wish people would be more passionate about this topic.

thank you for responding.
