Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Hi everyone on the forums. *Admins/mods, feel free to move this to an appropriate thread if this one isn't the right place.*

I'm really down right now, in a dark place. I want to hurt myself, I'm feeling suicidal. I've never attempted or done anything in my life but I want to.

As I mentioned in one of my posts, I don't see my Psychiatrist again until March 30. Then the new GP on March 13, but I want to see my Psychiatrist more because I feel more comfortable with him.

I also mentioned in another post that the local mental health triage (yes thats what they called themselves) refuse to help me and support me, they just admit people so they won't help or tell me people/places that can. I give up.

I can't get a job, I can't afford to study and the free courses at TAFE & Uni you had to a course already & have qualifications which I don't. I can't meet people. I went to a Headspace Centre & that was bad for me, sometime last year (for a group & Psychologist).

I don't see Psychologists anymore because of bad experiences. I see my Psychiatrist on Skype because he's in Sydney & I'm in Victoria (regional sort of).

I don't know what to do, I just give up. I don't want to be here anymore and I can't stop these thoughts, it's so hard for me not to try and do something and fight the thoughts. I only have my parents but it's so hard.

I'm sorry for coming on here and venting, I know everyone has their own things to deal with. I don't want to call 000 at the moment, I'd have to discuss with my parents anyway but they know everything I go through.

I don't know if these meds are working at all or if i should up the dosage like my Psychiatrist said shortly.

I just want to hurt myself and don't want to be here. I'm so stressed and just ready for a break down. On my walk today with my dog I had a panic attack because of everything and just seeing a few people and cars drive by which gets a bit much for me as silly as that sounds, I know. And I just feel like I'm ready for a breakdown.

Yes I've spoken to Kids Helpline, eHeadspace, Beyond Blue, SANE web chat etc. I might try them now too if I can get through, I don't know.

What an awesome 50th Birthday @Scarecrowe. Lots of wonderful memories to treasure with good people who are special to you and care about you.
I just turned 50 at the beginning of Feb. So we are the same age! And I was a petrol head when I was a bit younger but not as much now. Still, doing laps in a V8 at Sandown would be fun.

Happy birthday for last month @Sans911 Welcome to the 50 club my friend.

I don't feel 50 in my mind that is for sure, the body not so much lol. Hope you had a great birthday as well.

It was so much fun, I did not want it to finish after 3 laps, I could have done another 150 laps lol. It has been a birthday I will never forget. I am very lucky to have wonderful family and friends who love me that is for sure.

Well the birthday is officially over for another year lol. Still drinking Baileys though lol.

Sorry for taking a while to reply everyone, but thanks for the replies and kind words and reassurance, and even just clicking the support button. It means a lot. I wasn't trying to get attention though or sympathy or worry anyone, like I said I try to keep things to myself but also tell people. It's hard and a confusing situation.

i'll ask the new GP and my Psychiatrist when I see them again and explain more to them in as much time as I have. I feel a bit better when I see my psychiatrist and the new GP seems good, I've only seen her once though, I'm just scared because of the horrible experience I had with the previous GP.

Happy birthday though, sorry that I'm late in saying in it, I hope you had a good day @Scarecrowe .

Sorry for tagging everyone especially you @Scarecrowe & @Sophia1 since it's probably confusing for you, I'm just tagging everyone I've spoken to on here anywhere.

I haven't checked out the coping and positive threads yet but I promise I will, just haven't got around to it yet. Colouring in helps me as childish as it sounds even if I take my time. I'm thinking of doing the 1000 piece jigsaw I have sometime.

I love rock and metal music, I'll say more another time. I'm off to try and get some sleep, I'll reply and check the forums when I get the chance. Feel free to still reply and tag me in things anyone and I'll check that too.

Take care everyone.

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Hi @Former-Member

I'm learning a lot about the help services from you. I guess being undiagnosed for a long time I worked out ways mainly sports then finally on meds. when I lived with my mum I would plod around the yard and when she pasted my siblings moved in and I could plod again in the yard. But when they all moved out I never ventured again in the yard. my meds stayed and I joined groups and found I had a lot of anger so took it out on bosses and unions. I'll stop there its late I had a great night doing something new with sound healing a big group I felt lifted and drained now off to bed see ya.

Morning all. Sorry that I didn't reply sooner, I ended up going to sleep at 12:30am, then the internet kept going out because it's been raining here since yesterday and still is now (I'm in Victoria, sort of regional).

Thank you all for your kind words, it means a lot. I'm always here for all of you too and everyone on the forums.

As for distractions, yeah colouring in helps me at times but it does get boring too sometimes. It depends how I'm feeling. I should try and read more and watch more DVDs/Movies I have just sitting there on my bookshelf.

Music helps too, or even looking at funny photos, videos, etc. And uplifting stuff helps too. I'll be sure to check out the positive threads.

I go for walks daily too, so that's also nice, it helps sometimes, I just try to take in my surroundings, such as the trees, the bird life, the smell of Eucalyptus trees (one of my favourite smells, especially after it's rained), stuff like that.

I'm always here for all of you too like I mentioned. And you can all call me Tayla if you want since that's my name (I'm 20 by the way). And you can always talk to me about anything too, happy, sad, anything.

Sorry to hear about your experiences too, I guess everything is different for everyone so therapists, help places (like triage, web chats, etc). Up here it just feels like no one cares where I live because it's sort of country. It sucks.

Tayla x

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Hi @Former-Member

You are not a burden to anyone nor do you annoy anyone. It is ok to use this forum to get out your thoughts (as long as they are within the guidelines)

Sometimes just writing things down helps me too, so if it is helping you then continue to do so.

Sometimes we need a release and crying can do that for us. If you feel anger there are lots of ways to express it. Drawing, punching a pillow, doing some meditation helps me with my anger. Also talking it through on here does too, with some of my forum friends.

I hope you keep expressing yourself here as well as using those helplines for more immediate support.

Keep being you and take care tonight

Lots of

Snowie

Re: Is anyone around tonight? Depressed and suicidal

Thank you @Snowie , I appreciate that.

I can't draw unfortunately as much as I'd love to but sometimes I get tracing paper and look up nice things and trace them, I know that sounds silly.

Colouring in can help me too sometimes because I focus on the sound of the pencils on the paper (or any other colouring things like gel pens, etc), choosing which colours to use, thinking what I've "created" if you will, stuff like that. Even if I stretch it out over a couple of hours and/or days.

I was punching my pillow yesterday actually haha. How does one do meditation though? I'm not sure if I've ever done it before.

Thanks for your suggestions and kind words, it really means a lot to me and I greatly appreciate it.

I'm always here for you and everybody else on the forums too. I'll have to check out some new threads aswell as catching up on ones I've already commented in.

Take care.
