Memory & Cognitive Problems

Memory & Cognitive Problems

I've been experiencing memory & cognitive problems for a little while now. I wondering if anyone else here as experienced similar problems and how they went about getting it assessed?

I'm finding it, one of the hardest things, I have had to deal with, and in many ways its worse then the depression. I believe their is no treatment for this, but I do find stress contributes to these cognitive issues. It just makes me feel incredibility sad and somewhat embrassed by this and inadequate. I just don't know what to do about this and who to turn for support and help. Thanks guys for listening!

Hello @ivana Great to see you pop in and post.

@Former-Member medical imaging is a cost issue ... I hope you work it out ... sometimes things dont show up ... I had to face that I was told nothing showed up on my cat scans ... I cant demand imaging and let it go after a while.

Unfortunately I got a clue from reading my dad's inquest. In that his brain had oedema. Thats swelling or inflammation ... in today's terms ... I am pretty sure my brain is squishing out of its little cavity no matter how much I try to calm it down ... will be going for anti immflamm lifestyle from here ... maybe the brain damage is already done ... but at least it might help my headaches

Take care ... I am guessing it is a private hospital .... beach runs sound great ... for me they would be just walks.

Re: Memory & Cognitive Problems

Yes I too relate with memory problems. My partner jokes about it as much as he reminds me to do things! I've been putting off going to Dr. To test for silent stroke. I am young still, with kids that keep me well occupied, that I feel silly or don't want to be dismissed. 😔.My mum thought I should test as I confided in her. It runs in the family & my dad had a major one, I think another before major cancer diagnosis. He didn't have long. I read silent strokes can happen without realizing, but it affects memory. I was loosing balance a while back in silly moments but I put bit down to lack of sleep. I guess is what made me wonder is one side of my face is slightly different. If stroke runs in your family that's worth bringing up. My gran had several small ones & I knew someone a year older than me had one. I think severe stress or overload for a long time affects memory too.
