Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

If I have to deal with one more sob story about someone who had depression/anxiety and yet still managed to get out of bed/work/study/eat but it was soooo hard and all they did was 'eat better' and 'exercised more' and they got better so why aren't I just doing that?

I'm going to yell.

These people have no idea what mental illness can be like. They don't have the struggles of the daily medication that sedates you and saps your energy, the humiliation of having to live with your parents as an adult, not being able to get a job because you've lost your last job cause you were insane, fearing for my future cause if it wasn't for my parents I'd be homeless.

They have no idea.

Mild anxiety and depression seems to be a strengthener- look what I got through, I'm strong. And if you can't kick it you're just a failure. Scum that can't be worth the effort.

I'm sorry for ranting. I'm just a touch negative and the above probably shouldn't end up on facebook.

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

ARRGGHHH I am soooo angry!

I've just had a facebook fight with someone and not only do we not agree at all, I did it on my work computer and I'm scared that I might lose my job cause of what I said on facebook.

Basically this girl was having a whinge about having to spend $70 on a doctors visit every few months until she got in to see her specailist. And was upset about the cost. I replied that $70 isn't much compared to the thousands I spend every year. I got eaten alive by this other girl who disagreed with me and I just don't agree with her at all. They beieve that health care should be completely free and that this $70 is outrageous and that I'm a horrible person for telling her to man up and deal with the cost of it.

I just don't get it. What kind of a world do they live in? I'd like health care free too, but economically it's not viable. And frankly $70 for someone on a good full time salary isn't that big of a deal. Are they completely unaware of how the rest of the world lives? How lucky we are to have health care and only pay $70. How lucky she is that it's not more. How ridiculous winging about $70 is to someone who spends in excess of $15k per year on health care?

It's exactly like the fight I had with my brother, when I was really struggling with my mental illness and not eating right or keeping ontop of basic self care and his wife broke her leg and he had to do the grocery shopping my himself. And I was supposed to be impressed that he did the grocery shopping all by his ownsome as a 35 year old man. F him. I didn't even have the energy to to buy myself goceries and I had to congratulate him?

I'm just soo goddamn angry. And I just totally don't get it. Why am I such a bad person for telling these people to man up and deal with it. Is life really that ducking easy for them that this is such a challenge? Are they really that unaware of how other people live their lives?

Arrrggghhhhh!

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

@Former-Member am I completely unreasonable? I just don't get why I'm such a horrible person for telling them to man up? Does every little thing in life need validation and sympathy? I know I'm not a person with an abundance of sympathy, but I just don't get why these special snowflakes feel that way?

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

It's ok to rant @Former-Member, better out than in I always think 😜. I didn't comment because I have no idea really what to say right now but it's good to see you around. I know you'll hate me for it but I hope this rant is a good thing in that you're doing ok. I just got set off and over reacted to a situation with a parking inspector and am still feeling the effects so I know how that feels when we hold it in. Maybe you just helped me put mine in perspective better too.
Apart from feeling p****d at the girl and brother, how are you going?

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

I'm good. ☺️ Uni is horrendous at the moment, but I'm still enjoying it, it's just that there is just too much work. But it will be fine. I'm enjoying work, but I'm so scared I'll be fired now. I've deleted my facebook account cause I don't want to lose my job. So apart from this argument things are going pretty well. And new therapist seems to be working out too.
How have you been?

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

That's awesome @Former-Member about the therapist 😊💜. So pleased for you. My sons are full on with uni at the moment especially the one doing engineering, he is so under the pump so I can guess how much you are too. He's in his 4th year so it's heavy going mostly. Hopefully the Facebook thing will blow over soon. It's really great to hear you doing well.
Me I'm not doing so good or you'd be hearing more from me 😘. I can't get a grip on life at the moment. I'm over reacting to everything and it all seems life or death. im just hoping that some things turn around soon. I've been isolating from everything a lot.
But back to you. I really hope this is just a small glitch and that you keep swimming in uni. I'm supposed to be going back to tafe soon and I'm so scared I won't be ready. I start DBT in 3 weeks so maybe that will help. I'm thinking of trying some volunteering to help get out of my head. Seriously I'm not sure why our brains had to be this complex, I'm sure you agree. Well that sounds like my rant!
Sending hugs and best wishes 💜🤗💐 (you dragged me out into the open so well done 😜😘)

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

@CherryBomb, you're a mh worker.... why am I such a bad person for thinking these things? I just don't get it.
I've been copping hate all day about it and I still feel I'm right. I just don't get their side of it at all. Why is it okay to laugh at a rich kid who is complaining about not being able to afford a BMW, but it's not okay for me to tell people that they are in fact privileged and not really being hard done by at all.
I get that it's dismissing their feelings, but I feel they need reality check and to put their expectations more in line with how the rest of society lives and to be grateful for what they have. I get that this would be a bit hurtful, but I also expect that they would realise that many people have it worse than them and to be more aware of this fact.
Why am I such a bad person for saying these things?

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

Oh, @Former-Member, I just want to give you a big bear hug. ❤️
I'm sorry that things aren't going well at the moment, but I also hope that they will pick up soon. I think I can empathise with the overreacting to everything at the moment!! I'm glad to hear that you will be going back to DBT, I've got a friend who's doing it atm and she finds it really hard, but helpful. So I hope it's good for you. I think it's exciting about tafe and/or volunteering. But be careful not to overload yourself...... unless you respond well to that. Some people do, some don't.
We should create a study group on here where people can log in and talk about their study and stuff.
I truly hope you feel better soon and thank you for your replies. You always make me feel better. 😘

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

PS @Former-Member. I don't think you are a bad person. I just see it as we all have different tolerances. It seems to me that until you experience something it's hard to take it on board. I look back before mental health issues and I struggled to see any of life's complexities. I didn't want to comment before because I see all sides but really really want to tell you you are not a bad person for this. You have beliefs and values just like we all do but we don't always agree with each other. It doesn't make it good or bad, it just is. Sorry for my sucky answer but it's the best I can do for now to answer this. You are definitely not bad. 💜🤗

Re: Rant.... I just need to rant... I'm sorry.

Does anyone have any insight? I can't concentrate and I'm so angry. I just want to know why what I said was such a big deal.
I'm not going to be offended if you disagree with me, but if you could explain to me why what I said was so hurtful, spell it out like I'm a 5 year old I would really really appreciate it.

It's ok to rant @5-HT, better out than in I always think

I think she is having a bad day , sounds like she wants everything to be free for her
