Something’s not right

Son2

Son2

Hi everyone something happened last night with son2. It has been coming for awhile and no one is surprised least of all me as I have been makint excuses for months now .... one of his voices threatened me in a very violent way. Luckily he could talk the voice down and my daughter was here but nonetheless it has made me realise that son2 will have to go to a group home in the near future.

He is too big for me to handle when he gets out of control angry and the voices are at him. It just makes me sad that I will never be able to fix him. He will always have these nasty voices at him regardless of medications. He will never be totally free and will always be paranoid and thinking his family are out to get him.

It is so unfair. I could kid myself when he was younger that I could fix his problems. But it is impossible. I can't make it better and being a mum you are meant to be able to fix things for your children and I cannot. I feel a total failure...

It just hurts so much. Thinking bad thoughts tonight. Bad thoughts are surrounding me. Life shouldnt hold so much pain.

Re: Son2

@Bunniekins I hope you are feeling a little better. and as somone esle has said even if he is in care it doesnt mean he cant come home for a few nights or during the day some people even have part time in care agrrangements and I am sure you can work something out that works well for you and your son. also I am not sure how old your son is but could you frame it in a way that it is like "moving out of home" and onto the next chapter this would probably work best if you could find somewhere that helpled him to gain independant living skills as it would then be a step to him becoming a more functioning adult (that is if he is old enough). I know one of the programs i was in was like a share house and it was staffed and you had your own room but the staff could help you learn to cook and clean and took you out to do activities. it was a short term program but there could be long term options that are similar. anyway sorry for the long post but i hope you are doing better.

Re: Son2

@Eden1919 Hi Eden1919 my son is 26 and if he functioned like a 'normal' individual then yes it would be high time for him to move out but and this is the but he is like half child half adult with autism, epilepsy, intellectual delay and schizophrenia thrown into the mix. When we saw his pdoc on Friday the pdoc said he has never come across such a complicated individual as my son2. The last few days he has been angelic and constantly asking ' is nothing the trouble?'. He understands what happened the other night was unacceptable but can he control it if or more likely when it happens again? My mental health and my pdoc are scared for my safety and could take the decision out of my hands if I dont act.

None of this is easy or pleasant but I value all the support I am receiving from my Sane friencs. I dont know where I would be without all of you.xx @Meowmy @Gazza75 @Molliex @outlander and everyonexx

@Shaz51 Hey Shaz51 son2 is feeling very guilty over what happened the other night. He keeps asking me 'is nothing the trouble?' I feel very guilty over making plans for him to move him into a home just because I know he will feel scared and betrayed. At least it is months away ..... I just want to protect him Shaz51. He is my major concern not anyone else or myself for that matter.

Re: Son2

Hey @Bunniekins hope you're holding up okay Can only imagine how hard this is for you and your family. I'm not sure if you have considered getting help from your ex to work through some of this. It might be safer for you and maybe help s2 see that it's not just something that you have come up with.

I think all of us are concerned about your safety with dealing with this.

There's nothing wrong with reaching out for help and playing it safe with this process. Also I think it much better to try and act on it now while you have some control over it.

Far worse for you and son2 if that's not the case.

It's nice to hear from you as always GP. Everyone here wants the best for you and your family.

Just take it a day at a time and try and stay positive change is hard, but this might also bring you all closer together

Take care ♥️♥️♥️🌼🌼🌼☕

Re: Son2

Your welcome @Bunniekins. I can understand why you would want to apply the brakes. It's your life and family so don't be afraid to speak up about stuff as well.

Seems a little strange for nurse to call you today. ❤️❤️❤️🌼

Re: Son2

@Bunniekins hey little pea, I think just be normal to son two. Kind and care to yourself. It's harder for you than for him. You take on his responsibility for him as he is unwell. Don't be sad. Just be as normal and usual as possible. Keep up routines. Don't think too much. We love you.
