Hello everyone. @Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 @Determined @Former-Member @soul @outlander
I havent been around much lately, for which I apologise. I should pop in more regularly, even if its just to say hello and take the time to sit and have a cuppa with you lovely people. Oh well ... my loss.
Its been a difficult few weeks for me, which is the main reason for my prolonged absence.
Mainly to do with my carer role, but also my own ptsd issues. Culminated in another psych apt yesterday for me.
But I have been hit with a double whammy this week. Firstly my Mum just got diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. She needs a full body bone scan to determine how far its spread.
Secondly my husband had kidney cancer about 6 years ago, requiring a kidney to be removed. And then about 18 months ago he had a melanoma removed from his back. Since his kidney cancer he has been having six monthly and then annual scans to check that nothing comes back. Last week his latest results came back with possible metastisized tumours on his lungs. This is what they are checking for of course, and lung tumours are very common after both kidney cancer and melanomas. His GP rang immediately the report came through from pathology and ordered further urgent tests. So he had a CT Scan done on Friday. Yesterday the GP's office rang again and needs to see us. We see the GP tomorrow to get the news. I know its natural to automatically think the worst, but it is still possible that it isnt anything major. So although we are both fearing the worst, we are hoping for the best. We find out more tomorrow morning. All this has come about just when hubby was getting over a major eye operation, and things were (literally) starting to look good.
Its been a very difficult year for me personally as well, so it is all taking a major toll on my resources. My anxiety and overthinking has spiked, and I feel totally flattened, like I've been run over by a Mack truck.
So thats me ...... how's everyone else?
