Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi Peoples. Just had a tasty jaffa-hot-choc. A bit of orange liqueuer added to it... only mildly alcoholic, more a taste treat than anything else. 😄

I've found one of my best self care things lately is simply deciding that any time I'm sitting waiting for someone is me-time, not stress out and get impatient time. Sitting back, hopefully in a bit of sunshine, and relaxing. I'm still getting into practice with it, it's so easy to slip into stressing when kept waiting, but since I can't really do anything to change it, I may as well claim those minutes as my own.

Hi @Shaz51, @Faith-and-Hope and @Former-Member

Goodness me! Look at these cupcakes and the coffee! What beauiful coffee art! That takes talent!

I've been wanting to try those Pina Colada tim tams...has anyone tried them?

It's a homemade liqueur. Sliced oranges plus sugar, spices and spirits. The orange slices are theoretically the "preserve", but the syrupy liquid is a nice bonus.

Something I haven't mentioned.. the DSP application I put in has been approved. I had my doctor and psych a bit bemused that I wasn't feeling celebratory about it. It feels more like a confirmation of how hard things are at present than a victory. I'm thinking people here will get that. Have hardly told anyone, not even all of our family. I figure it can be a "need to know" basis rather than trying to explain all the complications to everyone.

❤️ Love the cat coffee @Shaz51 ..... ❣️

@Smc ..... that's what I do re "wait" time ..... none of my family other than me are punctual, so I had to choose to burn with frustration, or go with it. I still get ready early, but then I have to make myself scarce or I get things delegated to me "cos I'm just sitting around when everyone else is rushing ...." lol ..... :face_with_rolling_eyes:😆🤣

❤️ Love the sound of a Jaffa coffee. Might try that when we've got oranges just sitting around. Thanks for the tip .....

@Smc cone of silence in situ

When Mr Darcy qualified I felt relief knowing if something happened to me he would be able to get by, but also felt great loss ...

Yep. Also felt that way when our two eldest qualified. I really do hope than in my case it's not a "forever" necessity, but it will be needed for at least a few years, and as far as C'link is concerned 3+ years is the same as "forever".
