Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@soul - not sure what can be done to help me with today. I just need to talk to him. Having friends asking me how long will i wait if he keeps putting this off is really making the anxiety worst. I know he isn't being fair but i can't cut ties off via a text or email. I don't think i could live with myself if i did that. If things are to end it will be via phone or better yet face to face. Somehow it makes me feel really stupid that i have this personality/moral 😐😔

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

That's an awful situation to be in @Anony18. You have told us what the issue is. Can you put it to him in a very clear, concise way?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@soul. Don't know how to be concise as I have so many questions. So many things for him to hear me out. I sent him an email to which no response which not sure if he even read cause i know he doesn't read his emails sometimes. Think he has like 1000 unread.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

He may not have read it or he may have put it in the too hard basket. It could have been overwhelming if it contained a lot of possibly difficult questions. At the end of the day, you are just wanting the truth. He owes you that. Perhaps you can ask him whether he has read the email. Maybe send him another email or text message with just a couple of questions that won't be too tricky for him to answer.

If you want to talk to him, ask him when a good time would be for you to do this @Anony18

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@soul I have and seen if he can meet up last night. But his response yesterday was he doubt last night, possibly later otherwise he'll think of an alternate planned time. Haven't heard yet and i guess am anxious won't be soon or he won't come back due to history

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@Anony - could you ask him to give you a definite time? If he continues to be evasive, then you can assume that he doesn't value the relationship - so sad.

Oh @Appleblossom, did I misread or has your brother died? You said "Sadly his last words to me this week were many repeated agonised sorries" Just worried for you, you ok?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Thank you for noticing @Former-Member We have been expecting it, so he has relief from pain, but it is still a fraught time. I am keeping very calm and doing self care and my son is being kind and considerate. I am not very emotional about this death, but am tearing up a little at the level of support I have felt here at the forum and in passing irl.

It feels appropriate, other people's responses, for the first time. My father and other siblings' deaths were in a vacuum. No timely support , phone calls or visits or conversations. Only one card for my brother, none for the other deaths. Now I can see that is really pathetic on the part of my family. Its history now and I am lucky I have survived.

@Faith-and-Hope

We used pieces of coral as a kind of BBQ and slow cooker .. buried it in sand ... the sand would have put out the fire but we stoked it til it was coals, inside the coral. Make sense??

We were living in a beach hut. There was a coral reef out the front ... Locals selling fish on the beach ...
