Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Weird isn't it that being involved with someone who has a mental illness ends up with you having one too? Like it's infectious even though you may not get the same strain.

I really appreciate it how you guys aren't judgemental. And a hell of a lot cheaper than going to the shrink.

I saw some emails coming through but I didn't read them or go back to the forums. It was too much for me to handle - hence all the walking. Listening to music and just walking nowhere in particular. At one stage, I had to look at Google maps to get back on track.

@Determined No, I usually only do it in small batches, so a wooden churn would be too big, and those lovely glass jar ones are very collectable... $$$. I use an ordinary hand mixer. Not at all traditional but it works.
I have once used a wooden churn when I was helping out with a living history demo. I've also used a peanut butter jar to make butter while on holidays. Go for a stroll around the camping grounds shaking jar as you walk, and by the time you get back the buttermilk's ready to pour off. 🙂

The thing is I have kept this a secret from everyone except from one friend and my daughter. I have not reconnected with friends because I don't want to be in the awkward situation where I would have to lie to them.
