Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

@Spookytookims I thought of @Determined with the physicist Brian Cox hair do when he was in the band, turns out he prefers the Yul Brinnner look. @soul we could go to the hairdresser and get the looks we once dreamed of.

DIY no. 1 clipper cut for me @Spookytookims

Went for a zero clipper cut for a while but the novelty wore off when it stopped getting a reaction from mum and MIL.. childish I know but...

hahaha you know it's one of the few things I've ever written that I actually think is good. Whether anyone else gets it doesn't bother me at all.. and that just never happens I'm always scared my stuff is shite. So that in itself is bizarre..

lol @ "downright subterranean" I can absolutely agree and see that in it, don't worry 😛 @soul

There is a thread over the "other side" called writing for therapy or something akin to that.. I just wrote that in there the other day, only thing I've ever popped into it. Never written anything like that before, it just kind of typed itself. But I really like it for a lot of reasons and it's very much reflective of where I am at the moment. So where it came from I have no idea, I think that's why I like it. because it doesn't actually feel like I wrote it, even though I did. See .. none of this makes sense! But it does to me! weird...

Refined is probably not a word people would use to describe me @Determined but am making up for the years of neglect, not quite brave enough to be mutton dressed as lamb but doing my best.

@soul I had the spiral perm too but the only time I had the FF do was as s bride and I thought I was the bees knees with that hair and the lady Di style wedding dress

Hi @Anony18, it was more of a walk in suburbia today for me rather than a hike. I hope you enjoyed yours and got to breathe in some lovely fresh air. Good to put that limbo situation in the corner for a bit. I should try to get out more and do those things.

Always thought I'd get some of those Nordic ski style walking poles if I was to go bush walking @Anony18 @soul

Do they actually help or are they just for warding off snakes? @Former-Member

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

It is good to get out more for sure @soul The tough bit is actually the "getting out" part. The motivation of it. There were moments I had planned to get out but I woke up feeling low and anxious and just laid in bed. The fresh air and the view more importantly was amazing. I will post a few pics in a bit. Currently am working. Have a deadline for first thing tomorrow so got to get this sorted now It

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

I think I saw a guy today rocking those @Former-Member Whilst I was climbing up the steep steep slope - he was running down with it! Not sure how much they cost. I want to get hiking shoes but I have spent an amount on Saturday buying a backpack and the weekend before a new tennis racquet.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Have the impression they would help stop one from slipping @soul but as I don't go bush walking and am not planning on taking it up anytime soon I am probably not the best person to ask.
