Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

I'm just going to say Happy Easter to all of you.

Thanks @Anony18 so glad you liked my goodie bag...

@Former-Memberabsolutely love your company @Determined... did the kiddie winkles manage to grab any chockies before the chocky monster gobbled them?

@Faith-and-Hopeplaited bread - perfect for breaking and sharing today, love the smell of fresh bread

@Shaz51best wishes for you and hubby today and hope you are relaxing

@soul I got turkish delight googies, first time I've ever had turkish delight eggs - not had any yet.

@Former-Member was so very happy you dropped in this morning hope you are feeling just a little better. Still sending you strength, you know they have done intent experiments and proven intent actually works on a quantum level, they just don't know how? OK I just totally tangented.. but they have and more investigations are on-going

I'm slinking off now, tail between my legs.. not happy I lost my other post, quite sad actually.

@Spookytookims Love Turkish delight, I thought I could try make it and googled it at the local library. The first site I tried didn't have a recipe but was for a Fabio lookalike male escort no doubt from Turkey but I didn't investigate ... just hoped no one noticed.

Enjoyed the eggstra special goody bag. Thank you.

Hello all. Coming out of hiding... been busy with Easter-ish stuff. Happy Easter to all.

Have had a nice family lunch- slow cooked duck with assorted veggies and tangy fruit jelly, gravy and stewed apples on the side... Had everyone around the table, which means hubby and me, my sister, three adult "kids" and the one younger one. It can be a bit tricky serving the whole crowd because we're a bit short on uncluttered space. Due to assorted complicated circumstances we haven't got a "proper" kitchen at the moment, so the food prep and eating all happens in the one not very huge room. Setting the table has to wait until it's finished being used as a kitchen bench. The older two were getting a bit stressed over the crowd and fuss, but once the food was actually in front of everyone they settled down and enjoyed themselves.

Sister gave out Lindt bunnies to everyone, she got a batch of homemade spiced chocolate biscuits in a vintage tin from us; youngest had made homemade choc coated sultanas which worked out very well, plus she bought Maltesers to share out. I'd made some flavoured chocolates for everyone. The only choc eggs in sight were the little mini candy coated "birds eggs" that I'd bought, and some that were given out at the morning chuch service. (Held outdoors by a local lake. Very nice.)

So we're more full up from a rich lunch than from the chocolate. I'll get through my chockie slowly over the next week or so.

I was planning on homemade hot cross buns as well, but we spent too long talking after the church service:D and got back a bit late. The dough's still sitting in the tub. Thinking I'll finish making it into the buns, and have those for a simple dinner. The three growed up kids have disappeared off, either to their home or to a friends' house for a Dr Who evening, so if the remaining family wants more than a fruity bun or two, they can raid the leftovers. I've done enough work for now!
