Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hope you're having better days with your respective hubbies @artee and @Faith-and-Hope. Much respect to you with the composting/worm farm toilet. I can't even get my normal compost to create something useful so I can only imagine the mess I'd get into in this scenario!

Ouzo over ice is too strong for me ...... puts hairs on your chest, that stuff .... (!) .... so I have it with CocaCola ..... which also puts hairs on your chest 😆 but when I ordered it like that in Athens, they wouldn't serve it to me ..... brought me Ouzo over ice ..... thought I was joking ..... and when I said I wasn't, they still wouldn't serve it to me .... said I was nuts !!

Ahhhh, those Greeks !! Gotta love 'em .....

I'm actually drinking homemade chicken bone broth that I wouldn't dream of serving anyone else. I'm on a health kick so whacked the chicken carcass from our Sunday lunch in the slow cooker for a few hours. I believe it creates some sort of health elixir but it sure isn't tasty

Yeah, well .... we have to try these things once ....

I am generally a bit of a health nut .... at least I thought I was until my hubby started down his current path (!!) so I went exploring a few alternative things like chia seeds and quinoa ..... which have now become common knowledge ingredients .... but I have got one funny story to tell ...

Housekeeping was tight for me one week when my kids were quite a bit younger, so I decided to adapt a Greek recipe for Spinach Pie (Spanakopita) and make it a Vegie Pie instead with all the left-over veggies in the fridge .... and because I was also feeling quite exhausted, this recipe used a batter that cooked to form a pastry in the oven and that sounded like a good idea too ....

Only I used self-raising flour by accident instead of plain flour, and the amount of veggies were a bit too much filling for the amount of batter going underneath and on top .... so "Veggie Cake" emerged from the oven, enough to feed an army, and it was awful !!!!

Think my kids have ever let me forget it ? They ate cereal for dinner the next two nights rather than go anywhere near the Veggie Cake !!

So funny! I have many similar kitchen disasters but none that paint such a lovely picture. Anyway, I love breakfast for dinner so that would have worked out well for me @Faith-and-Hope

Yep, Dad's home and settling in okay ....

Its early morning here, and feels much colder than the temp is saying ..... gonna snuggle for a little while before making the dash for the kitchen ..... bit they've been talking about favourite cereal choices on Night Shift overnight, and now I'm jealous .... and getting hungry ....
