Hi @Former-Member - as expected we didn't win 😐 But we gave it our best shot and did better than we expected though.

Ohhh that is such an interesting concept. If I think about we all have perception of time or the lack thereof or it's moving too quickly or slowly. But time differs for everyone and how you think about. And memory is a concept of time. To us memory is probably a past but I know my aunt who has dementia these memories are current. I may be going off a tangent here.

@Appleblossom thanks for the encouragement to post my stuff. I certainly didn't take it as pressure I took very positively. Maybe on this occasion that tight ball of emotional doubt unravelled just a little, maybe the @Faith-and-Hope puddy tat helped me take that bit out 🙂

@Former-Member I saw your thread, but didn't want to post on it as I don't want to intrude. Just know that your story is very similar to mine, up to a point. Now I see why for some unseen reason, I felt some kind of kindred spirit thing with you.

@Anony18 Oh sorry you didn't win, but as long as you had fun that's the main thing. And you got there, made the semis, that's great!!

With regard to the philosophical "argument" that was raised in the show I was watching.... off on a tangent? No... absolutely not.. I think you are right on point. Coincidently I was posting to @Appleblossom on a thread where I had put in an article about ACT, and I mentioned that during my darkest years of PTSD my memory stopped, and I have no concept of time from it. That was only a couple days ago, then I saw that. I think because of my experience, I "got it" straight away. Well at least the concept of it. Just as you relate it to your Aunt experiencing of it. It's a very interesting perspective.

There was another observation that same guy made, which also related to the work Alzheimer himself did originally. That was in losing the time/memory, many patients would just turn to him and say "I've lost "me"".

That resonated with me also, because I am just re-finding "me". I think that comes across in a number of the posts I've made recently. So yet another confirmation I guess, but found in an unexpected documentary discussing philosophical/quantum topics. But hey... on that level, everything is linked. 😛

Now that's a tangent hahaha.

Tooky, when you say you saw my thread, I guess you are referring to my new one from yesterday, here in the Carers Forum - Struggling to cope? As for not wanting to intrude, I assure you that by posting there, you would definitely not be intruding. So post away if you ever feel like it. Similar story to yourself aye? Tell me more, I'm always happy to discuss with a kindred spirit. And even more reason why you should not feel as though you would be intruding on my thread.

Oh and before I forget (I forgot myself yesterday until 4pm - damned ptsd brain!) the cricket starts at 3pm NSW time, 12noon WA time. Go Aussies ...........

Yes I meant struggling to cope thread, sorry . I just identified with some of it but see major divergence also. I'm hesitant to say much more .. maybe I should just post my darn clipart story cos then it might make more sense... well if you can understand it. But I don't know where to put it. Or I'm using that as a cop out. Something... grrrr I don't know. Too close to home I guess.. laying myself out there.... but also not... I'm doing my own head in now... I'm going to get a coffee... lol want one?

With regards to your clipart story, I saw the Part 3 you posted. Looked good to me, but I wondered after your comment to someone else there - how are you meant to read it, if it isnt top to bottom, left to right?

I could relate to some of the pics, but was a little confused by the ordering and overall context. No doubt seeing Part 1 and Part 2 would help in understanding it better.

As for where to put it, when you eventually decide to, I would start up a new thread and call it something appropriate.

I'd love a chai latte actually, but might wait until 3pm cricket time! Hubby likes a 12noon lunch, so I'd best go get something ready for that.

@Smc @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member yeah I hear you all... I mean it's just some "silly" clipart.. but it is my story in little pics and it's deliberate in it's creation.. and if others don't get it... well then that kind of opens up a bunch of self doubt again... that's probably more it. It was supposed to be a bit of fun really.. I have no idea why it has now become some weird cr@pola in my head. Not to worry... I will either post it or not... I don't really want to create a thread for it... but then again that's the logical step because there isn't anywhere else to put it that it might not interfere with someone. aaaagggghhh.. I just need to get over myself sometimes! Sorry.

and btw I LOVE iced coffee!!! But at 9am I went for a hot one from the machine 😄
