Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Hi @Former-Member, and anyone else who is about ....... I posted this in the Beer Garden, but thought I would try to catch up with the coffee / tea / hot chocolate crowd as well ❤

I'm down at the river, and owing to the overcast skies, it is a beautiful dove blue-grey colour, and so calm, there's hardly a ripple. A flock of four pelicans just took off across the water, flying a metre above it in a formation, fishing with their eyes, I imagine. So beautiful !

No dolphins yet. With this calm water, I would know they were coming before they arrived ...... the ripples they send out go far ahead of them, spreading out to the shoreline on both sides of the river 😊 Gorgeous things that they are.

Sounds wonderful walking the seaside river. Waiting for the dolphins. An pelicans are so graceful to watch flying. The sky you describe also sounds magical. Wish i was there, could do with a walking buddy. Did you see any dolphins? Thanks for sharing, been a bit copped up lately.

I would love to go walking with you !! At least we can have virtual walks, which are only now possible online in this technological age. It would once have been we would have had to be pen-pals, writing letters to share virtual walks .....

No dolphins this morning .... just the pelicans, but how magnificent they were ......

I went for a massage this afternoon. I don't know whether you have been following along with Night Shift at all, but I posted that my D3 is having melt-downs in the wake of the stress she has been carrying regarding school, family, etc, and she's a real tempest. My back was so full of knots, I could feel them spasming with the massage, but I know it is doing me good.

I know you're not great with Night Shift, but some of the newer members are branching out into other threads, and I have seen you popping up there too. You're sounding very positive, and I am glad to hear it 😊

What do you do when you're cooped up at home ? Any hobbies like knitting ? Music ? Fave TV shows ?

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, thought you'd forgotten me & worried I'd upset you too somehow (as i so easily seem to do 😕) but know its more likely blackdog talking, not truth. I hope. Please just say if I do put my foot in it as you're important to me here.

What do I do? the dishes & garden but sadly mostly dvds. Do enjoy photo editing & bible study lately. Not much of a reader but push myself to. When I'm not so down & can get organised enough to find things, i crochet, sew, mend, do cross stitch or tapestry, but mostly sew & crochet. Working on a patchwork memory quilt at the moment for mum & dad.

Play piano or guitar. Today i even broke into song twice 🎶🎶🎵 "though he fall he shall not be cast down..." 🎶🎵🎶"what can wash away... oh precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow... 😄, so although i don't know what i feel right now, something good is happening for that to come out today.

Sounds better than it is, lack motivation but always hope to do more.
Have my old dog distracting me. Haven't had a family member here since Dec. gets too quiet - thus the. dvd's (company).
