Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Sounds good @Former-Member I'm logging off, & shutting down in a minute or two myself....

Are you back to twice weekly yoga now @Adge

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Well if you count my extra Trauma Yoga course (goes for 5 weeks) - Then yes I am @Former-Member

Otherwise no.

I've been exhausted on Saturday mornings, & have not made it back to that class - even though it was my favourite.

I have still always made it to my Thursday afternoon Yoga Class (weekly) - but the people there are somewhat snobby.

Nowhere near as friendly as the Saturday morning yoga people were.

Could you swap Thursday for Saturday @Adge ?

Hi @Former-Member, @Adge.
I'm up and about for a little longer.
Still woggy, so I ended up dozing off for a couple of hours this afternoon. Hopefully will sleep OK tonight.
Not heading to church tomorrow... both not up to it, and shouldn't spread the Dreaded Lurgy any further.

Taking things easy sounds sensible @Smc

A bit "not optional" at the moment @Former-Member. Ah well.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

I've been feeling non-functional (utterly exhausted) every Saturday morning, for 7 month @Former-Member

Since my last major surgery.

I just don't feel up to driving there at 7.30am in the morning.

I need to change that, before I will feel able to go.

As for the "Trauma Informed Yoga Course" - it is basically just an ordinary yoga class (with few people), at an extraordinarily high price ($50 per class).

The poses & routines are exactly the same as what I'm used to - with no extra input, & no explanation (from the Psychologist/Yoga Teacher) as to how it relates to Trauma & Complex PTSD.

My Dad used to call it the "Dreaded Lurgy" too @Smc

I have not heard anyone else use that term, in many years.

Dad died almost 4 years ago.

🙂 @Adge, guaranteed your Dad was a fan of The Goon Show. That's where it comes from. Except I just found out they spelt it "Lurgi". If you'd like to find out for yourself, here 'tis. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007k4l1
