Ah... It's not just me then.

I used to bake most of our cakes and bikkies. Now it's only special occasion ones. I kind of miss that, but can't be helped for now.

We still use our bread making machine 4 -5 days a week.

@Appleblossom, yeah, I used to make our bread too. There have been times when we've had all-homemade bread, butter and jam. I do still have a jam stockpile (but the fruit supply has mostly fed the possums this year, grr!) but butter has also been relegated to "special occasions".
I used to have fun doing fancy breads. Stewed plums made lovely "pink buns", grated apple and spice buns, and sometimes I'd do coffee or chocolate breads. Herb breads, sometimes cheesy ones.
I do still make yeasted pizza dough sometimes, and I often add lots of herbs to that, and sometimes grated carrot or apple too.

My son has excluded sugar, bread and milk from his diet and I only buy a loaf every couple months to freeze.

My older younger (??) brother was hands down best baker with his 3 egg yellow bread. I found a loaf on my doorstep once as thank you for letting him stay in my flat for a few months, which I will never forget amongst all his pain and violence. He was also dreadfully competitive which maybe emerged in his foster homes or orphanages. I dont really know.
