Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Am just about to have a go at making lemon butter @Faith-and-Hope if it works out alright there could be a lemon meringue pie on offer.

Oh yum @Former-Member .....

I have made lemon butter with the left over egg yolks from making pavlova. It try to make you he two in tandem so nothing gets wasted, then you can make a “deconstructed” lemon meringue pie with pav drops, lemon butter, and some digestive biscuits crumbled, in layers in a tall glass.

That sounds yum @Faith-and-Hope almost a variation on "Eton mess" We have all but abandoned dessert eating here - reserved only for when we have visitors - will keep it in mind to try on some unsuspecting guests.

Ooh Lemon Butter & possibly Lemon Meringue pie @Former-Member

Yes please, count me in on both of them.

I haven't cooked a Lemon Meringue pie in years - I had no complaints when I did cook them.

They were all gobbled up, without a trace...

Yes Jelly seems happier, more entertained spending time outside - mainly in backyard, & a bit out the front. So far she doesn't seem to be wandering much, so that's safer (better).

I had a cat (Rex) stolen when he was only 6 or 8 months old, & had only been going outside for a few weeks. Never saw him again.

So understandably, I had anxiety when letting Jelly cat outside.

Gee, your Mum's sow eating the chooks would have been a shock @Determined

No wonder sow ended up in the freezer.

Apparently pigs make excellent pets, although I've not known anyone who had a pig as a pet.

Not to mention the damage it did breaking into their run @Adge. Dont know what got into it because she was usually a gentle giant. Tasted good afterwards though 😋

No eggs to go with the bacon was the biggest problem lol .
