There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.
I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.
Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Hi guys, need a hot chocolate. And a vent. All upset, my brother (B3) just rang (very rate?), he's had a headache all day so I tried to get him to get his headaches checked out because they could be Blood Pressure etc But all I got for my concern and advise was to 1Oyr long saga about how the neighbours are lazerbeaming him to death & nobody F#% cares, and drs are in on it with the gov because I have info they don't want out. These secret weapons etc. Trying to get him yo rule out other possibilities causing his s pain & distress upset him. Everything I tried to change the topic to came back to that, when I asked how mum and dad seem, their serious ageing problems are the laser beams too the family is all targeted... When I told h I don't want to talk about that anymore, how's his computer going... He got angry & hung up on me. Didn't ask how I was or thank me for all the comics I've been sending or how my Reno's are going. It upsets me, not just because I'm lonely and hate that I've lost half my family to psychosis but because he's so distressed and lost to it refuses to try see it any other way. I'm sad. The only conversation I've had for 2days, its just crap!!! grr! How can they not know it upsets me. He's stuck in the conspiracy groove and pulls his whole world into it on top of him. He said it will k--l him soon, then I'll believe it yeah, haha. Same as the other bro (B4), both with chronic drug induced psychosis refusing meds. I can't reason with it but want and need a family. . So over it. How dare he hang out p on me without even asking how I am, just blar blar blar, me me blar blar...
There, got that of my chest sorry, thanks, but how do I manage s, short of cutting them off 😞

Hi @Former-Member . Sending you hot chocolates and hugs ❤️ . I'm so sorry to hear about the saga. I have a family member who is similar, so I understand the frustration, and hurt. I don't have any answers for you unfortunately. Just sympathy, and willing ear if you need to vent more. ❤️
Love the coffee @Faith-and-Hope ! I've got lemon meringue pie to share with the coffee today. I got in some retail therapy with my SO today and bought myself a KitchenAid!

😆 Hi @Former-Member .... I thought you'd like that one ....
Wedding shopping is getting there .... ran errands along with it so it ended up taking most of the day .... baby dragons managed themselves and D2 between them ....
Sometimes a change is as good as a holiday .... I feel a bit recharged now ....
What's your movie tonight ? I am probably going to just turn on the TV and try to watch whatever is on shortly .... D3 and S2 working on assignments .... D1 out with FSIL .... D2 will probably read .... quiet Saturday night ....
