Re: Recipes & Snacks

Hi @BlueBay @Shaz51 @Ali11 avo is really yummy on toast with miso (instead of vegemite). But actually avo is really yummy full-stop. We have a massive avo tree here that gave 100s of avos 2 years ago but last year's season we lost them all to heavy wind before they matured. Fingers crossed for this year. We shared them with loads of other people and still had as much as we could eat here.

So many things you can do with them.

I’m the same @eth I love avocado. There nice in their own with a bit of pepper salt and balsamic vinegar. Yes on toast is a favourite of mine.

Re: Recipes & Snacks

Museli Bars

  • 1 cup Kellogg's Rice Bubbles
  • 4 Sanitarium Weet-Bix crushed
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup mixed dried fruit (or nuts)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 125 g butter melted

Method

  1. Grease a 19cm x 29cm slice pan.
  2. Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl.
  3. Combine sugar, honey, peanut butter and butter in saucepan, stirring constantly over low heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.
  4. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir constantly.
  5. Cool slightly and stir into dry mix.
  6. Press into slice pan and refrigerate until set.

Slice smaller than normal bars as they can be tricky to lift out of the tray. Enjoy.

I'm sure your beef stew is very good @Shaz51

Mushroom & truffle risotto sounds yummy @Ali11

I'm having tuna mornay, lots of vegies, & a piece of vegetarian lasagna.
